Arrival Story:
My oldest brother brought Poco home to me for easter back in 1993. Poco had been left out in the cold in a litter of puppies that were pretty much abandoned. Scared, hungry, thin, 2 of them were bloody. So, no long detailed story, since we dont know too much of his origin, all we know was his breed and age , ( 7 weeks old ) was because there was a note left on the box. Also, just so everyones clear, my brother took all the other pups ( 4) to a local shelter. He picked Poco for me because he was the only dog who was not bouncing off the walls, and I was a small kid so he didnt want me to be scared haha. I absolutely adored this dog, still do even though he's gone =(. He was my best friend growing up, and even though he had a temper he was the sweetest most loyal dog to those who knew him.
Bio:
Poco was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy in 1996. His vet claimed he had scarring on his brain, from something caused at a very young age, most likely trauma as a puppy, and since he was abandoned it was the most likely scenario. Poco passed away in July of 2001. He had gotten clustered seizures one night, we couldnt get them under control, they led to a stroke..and.... that's enough about that. He was 8 years old.
Ironically, I got Kahlua when she was 6 months old, which was in january of 2002, which means she was born in July of 2001, which is the same time I lost Poco. I miss him.
