Close Call

I never come on here anymore, but as an ex-Dogster addict, I thought it'd be right to update.

For the past week, Jake's been throwing up his food, and today he couldn't even eat. We took him to the vet and got blood work. There's something wrong with our big guy's throat. The vet said it could possibly be cancer.

So if you're out there reading this, we need your prayers. I'll update you guys after the next appointment.

This better not be what I think it is.

So, last week, Mom found a lump on my chest =/ And a few days ago, she found one on my leg. We don't know what it could be, but Mom called the vet and I have a vet appointment on Monday. Mom's been trying to see if they're getting any bigger, not really, but they sure aren't going away. She's sure it isn't a hair knot, so that only leaves a few options. Let's just hope for the best here (:

Long time no bark, eh?

So, my birthday was August 31st, it was a BLAST! Mom, her sister, and her friend spent all day decorating the basement and baking my doggie cake. It was a Hawaiian theme with tons of tennis balls, treats, and bones. I was so happy! It wasn't at all as if I was turning 8 years old ;O And best of all, presents. I got a HUUUUGEEE bone and 3 new tennis balls, they squeak =D I think Izzy likes them a little too much, though =/ Bol...And then the cake. Delicious ;)

Now, what else is new.... Not much D; I promise to update more XD

My Tail of Devotion for Jake

Jake-

Its been 7 years now. Can you believe that? 7! It is amazing to see that your rough beginning had no affect on you now!

We got you from a breeder who was a scammer, plain and simple. We didn't know it when we got you, but at least she didn't scam money for you. But she did treat you so poorly that after only TWO days we had you you had begun vomitting everywhere. We took you to the emergency vet late at night and they said you had puppy parvo. I didn't know what puppy parvo was at the time, but I knew it wasn't good, seeing as how you didn't come back the next day. We came to visit you everyday and I am ashamed to say I made them put a pink cast on your paw instead of a more manly color. But you made it through in the end- barely. You were really almost gone, you kept pushing it though and here we are, 7 years later.

Now I know you've always been taken as "the good dog", even with Mickey harrasing you through his puppy years. We always joke that you have a little smart bump on your head, I don't know if its true that its a smart bump, but you sure are smart! You can do anything we ask, you are truly amazing, I don't know how I would have made it through things I went through if I didn't have you.

It hurts to see you struggle to get up, now a days. You are the most loyal dog I could ever ask for, and I wouldn't have you any other way, and (hopefully) this is a while away, but when you are no longer with us you will live on, in our hearts forever

Good news :]

Dear diary-

Well, every night I sleep on Mom's bed [and yes, Mom is aware that it isn't the best thing for a dog to do in the case of pack leaders :P] or on the floor of her room. I don't like going in the room Mickey and Izzy sleep because they think they are better than me and I am just the go with the flow type of pup and let them kick me out. But yesterday, there happened to be an opening. Mickey was on the bed and so was Izzy, but the person usually sleeping there was over at a friend's house, so I jumped up there right next to them, Mom walked in the room and saw us, she says it was toooooo cute.
For dogs who sleep on beds with their family, this may seem like nothing. But Mom was happy about it because it was showing that I want to be part of the pack, usually I won't play with the other pups and Mom tries to get me to.. but doesn't want to stress me out, so she throws me tennis balls and gives me love.
Ever since this summer, I haven't been going on our early morning walks before Mom heads off to school, but when she got out the leashes and collars this morning I was in front of her before Mickey or Izzy. This has never happened. Mom isn't sure whats up with the sudden change in my mood but whatever it is, its pretty good ;]

My Birthday!

Dear Diary-

Yesterday was my birthday, I should know because I've had 7 of them! Mom says I'm getting older and it shows! I had tons of fun yesterday, I got yummy treats and I also got presents! The night before my birthday Mom found a recipe online, it was simple because that was the only recipe that we had everything to make. It was still DELICIOUS! Mom knows I love peanut butter and thats what these treats main ingrediant was, YUMM!

Mom video taped it and will have to get it on my page soon. I even got a candle on my "birthday cake" Hehehe

The presents I got were: a tug toy, ear cleaning stuff (yeah great present Mom!), and a "fortune ball" it was green and it said "To slobber is canine, to bark is devine" it describes me exactly! I didn't get a lot of presents because toys are expensive and Mom says she needs to take me to the vet because I'm so skinny!
