Sunday, September 13th, is National Pet Memorial Day in the United States.

Wherever you live, this is the time to take just a moment to remember pets that have a special place in your heart and who now live happily just over the Bridge.

"Ciano" ... forever loved and remembered by my Mom

Happy Valentine's Day all year round :-)

• 12.27.08 for immediate release

Guide Dogs for the Blind is asking for your assistance in locating a lost dog. Argos is 10 months old and a puppy in training for the Guide Dog program. While visiting Las Cruces for the holidays, the male yellow lab managed to escape the yard and has been missing since Friday night. Argos is being raised and trained by a volunteer family from Denver. Guide Dogs for the Blind is a nonprofit organization that breeds, raises and trains dogs for people that are blind or visually impaired. The dogs are placed with individuals that need them, free of charge. Each and every dog in the program is a valuable resource and has been bred for many generations to have the qualities needed to become a guide.

Argos is a puppy, however being 10 months old, looks like an adult dog and is reddish yellow in color. He has tattoos in both ears with his ID number and is wearing a black collar with guide dog tags. If you have any information about this lost dog, please contact Bev Farmer at 720-261-8404 or Guide Dogs for the Blind at 800-295-4050.

The Birthday that Was (yesterday)

Soooo, hey ... just a quick note to wish ALL of you the swell kind of birthday I had yesterday. I was just blathering on to my swell pal Pippin about what we did, and I'll share with you, too. :-)

We went to Dairy queen for ice cream (YUM!) - we even took my "brother" Cruiser 'cos he love ice cream, too. We all went to the park so tell off the squirrels who are sooooo aggravating (one of my greatest pleasures is telling them off!). After that, we went to the pet store where Mom & Dad let me pick out 2 new toys "just for me" (when Cruiser steals 'em, which he of course he does 'cos we're always competing to get the best toys, it means I can take one of his favorites and run off with it ... HA!), and THEN a couple of my very favorite people in the world came by the house to tell me how swell I am, Happy Birthday & Many Happy Returns of the Day, and that I don't look my age at all (natch!!!). I also got to sit on the couch under the blanket with Mom & Dad when they watched their movie last night. That's my favorite, except for walks. And eating. And barking. And ... um ... whatever it is I'm doing at that particular moment.

It was a truly swell day. I can hardly wait to do it again next year!

It's my BIRTHDAY today!

Amazing ... it's my BIRTHDAY today and everyone forgot. Thanks to my fabulous, and highly popular!, pal Pippin-the-Pug for sending me B-day Greetings so's my Mom would remember this very important day!

Interestingly, it is also Puppy Mill Awareness Day, and I'm a puppy mill product - extremely bright, eager, and imminently trainable like Italian Greyhounds are supposed to be, but also anxiety-ridden and dreadfully neurotic like puppy mill dogs can be. We got my "brother" Aten so I wouldn't suffer quite so much from separation anxiety. He's pretty swell, so that's been a good thing. :-)

Back to my BIRTHDAY, however ... here's wishing all my current and future pals a wonderful day. Everyday is a gift, particularly if you have a wonderful forever home. Me? Well, we're going out for doggy ice cream and trip to the pet store to pick out a toy. Yea!

See you around the forums ... Ciano

National Kissing Day!

Our pals in the UK, the Jewsbury tzus, are celebrating national kissing day and hoping to spread some snogs your way! They are not only adorable but also "footloose and fancy free" and have worked hard today to spread this tradition to EVERYONE! MMMMMMMMM - we love it and are sharing with more furiends!

So if you recieve one of the shared snogs (recipients only allowed to give out five each), we would love it if you could spread the snogs to other dogsters....LETS HAVE A SNOG FEST!!!!

Soooo ... Today is Happy Kissing Day. Remember to give your mum, dad, siblings and special significant others a whole load of snogs!!!

To celebrate the 13th annual National Kissing Day, the founder Denplan commissioned the survey to ask people to name their top three favourite screen kisses. In first place was Patrick Swayze kissing Demi Moore in "Ghost." Second most popular rated kiss was the Disney classic "Lady and the Tramp" where pampered pedigree pooch Lady shares a surprise spaghetti kiss with loveable rogue Tramp (36%). In third place was gorgeous Swayze again, this time with Jennifer Grey in the 1987 blockbuster Dirty Dancing as they kiss in public for the first time (35%).

Swayze's still got it!

Swayze was the clear favourite with females surveyed, who voted Ghost (50%) and Dirty Dancing (43%) as their top two. The star of both blockbusters, who turns 56 this year, clearly remains a heartthrob for many.

Surprisingly more in touch with their feelings than previously given credit for, men voted for "Ghost" first (40%), "Lady and the Tramp" romped in second with 36%, and one of the greatest romantic tragedies of recent time, "Titanic," received 33% coming in third.

Oldie but not a winner this time:

Unexpectedly, classic films "Gone with the Wind," " From Here to Eternity" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" all ranked low in the voting at sixth, seventh and tenth places respectively.

However, these still remain the favourites of the over 65's, whose top three screen smooches were "Lady and the Tramp" (40%), Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler's tempestuous kiss in "Gone with the Wind" (36%), and Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr's classic beach clinch in "From Here to Eternity" (36%).`

Creator of the first National Kissing Day back in 1995 and Denplan Managing Director Stephen Gates said: "We created National Kissing Day as a fun way to raise the profile of dentistry among consumers so that it had a connection with everyday life and not just six-month check-ups. While oral health care is a serious matter impacting general health, being sombre about it doesn't necessarily always get the message across. National Kissing Day is a great opportunity for people to kiss their loved ones and remember the importance of oral healthcare; we hope everyone will be doing that today."

I HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!!

I HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!!

I have been tagged by Valentino!!

Here are the rules of this dogster game of "tag" in case you've never gotten a chance to play. When you are tagged, you post 7 random facts about yourself, compose a "new DIARY entry" along with the rules and put them in your own DIARY. Then you pick 7 furs (kitties or doggies) to tag but make sure you tell them... a simple p-mail will do fine, or a rosette to tell them, but you must let them know that they have been tagged. Post their names also in your DIARY.

1. My "mom" named me after an Italian she read about in school ... she thought the name was cool.
2. I have 4 siblings: Iggy Maddie, Iggy Aten, German Shedder Cruiser, and Maine Coon Jingles.
3. I love lettuce and carrots. I will pull them out of the salad if I get a chance.
4. I love to go on long, long walks ... anywhere at all will do.
5. I sleep under the covers with "mom" and "dad" at night ... I'm the only one that gets to do that at our house. :-)
6. I love to bark very bad things at the chocolate lab behind our house ... oooh, he makes me MAD when he hits our fence with his paws or shoulder.
7. I LOVE to chase the ball and play catch with the frisbee. I can catch the frisbee in mid-air before it touches the ground! Most Iggies don't like to do that.

I have TAGGED the following furs:
1. Frill
2. Panda
3. Gadget
4. Josie
5. Bailey Jade
6. Gypsy Rose
7. Oscar Ming the Merciless
