Busy busy busy

Wow, it's been a long time! My mom has been super busy the last few months with my new little brother, Murry. He's a Cairn Terrier just like me, from the same place that I came from! Only, he was living with another family for a while who didn't take good care of him so when he came to live with us he had alot of problems to work out. We didn't like eachother at all at first; we used to fight and bite eachother all the time! Now we get along OK, I just hate it when he keeps trying to lick my face. Actually, he licks everyone and we all hate it! But he's not so bad.

We've been pretty busy this summer. We've gone on alot of hikes to Rice Creek but we haven't been able to go camping at all yet which makes me sad. Ever since I went last year it's been my favorite thing! But we did get to go on a trip to Baltimore to ride on Grandma and Grandpa's sailboat which was fun. Except for the long car ride which I hate. But they feed me lots of junk food when I go there so it was worth it.

Life is pretty good right now. 4th of July is finally over (stupid loud booms!) and in a few days I'm going on a hike with my old friends Reilly and Riess who I haven't seen in forever. I love summer time!

1. I have a very good memory. If I want something that I can't have, I'll NEVER forget it and move on. I'll just sit and stare at it a for a few hours/days/weeks...

2. I can't go for rides in the car. I get really carsick.

3. I always help Grandma finish her breakfast in the morning, especially if she's having toast with jam!

4. I'm very protective of my house and I bark if anyone comes within two blocks.

5. I secretly love being groomed. Shhhhh

6. Even though I'm small and cute, I'm NO lap dog! I hate cuddles.

7. When my family members come home I always have to give them ear lickings to say hello!

Christmas time is here again

Well, yesterday was my second Christmas (that I remember anyway!) and I got alot of stuff this year too! I got so much stuff that it didn't all fit in my stocking so I had some things under the tree too! I got a new squeeky chicken and a huge squeeky bowling pin that is now my new favorite toy! On Xmas eve we went over to Aunt Trishas house and I got to eat alot of yummy treats and to play with my friend Polly. The only bad thing this Christmas was that my stupid brother Scotty was here this year and he got alot of cool toys that I can't play with. Not only that, but he ate one of the treats that was in MY stocking. But when he's not looking I'm going to take all his things and chew them apart! I can't wait till next Xmas!

A new brother?

Yesterday, my Aunt Cassy brought home a new dog. He is a Westie and he's called Scotty. At first I thought he was just visiting like Polly does sometimes, but then when bed time came he didn't go home! He went in my Grandma's room to sleep with her, but that's where I'm supposed to sleep so I wasn't happy about that. Mommy made me go to her bed to sleep but I whined all night cuz I was so mad that this new guy got to take my place in Gram's room. She said it was cuz we wrestled and stuff and wouldn't lay down together and sleep. He didn't seem to happy to be in there either. He whined and scratched at the door every time he heard some noise. Mom and Grandma were both kinda annoyed cuz they were tired. Finally Gram left her door open and he and I both managed to get some sleep! I'm kinda jealous cuz Grandma has a new doggie and I don't want him to become her favorite over me. He does like playing more than Buffy does though, so maybe having a brother won't be so bad...

Wow, has it been a long time!

I've been pretty busy lately doing all kinds of fun summery things. I went camping for the first time and loved it! We went on our own private island so I could run around all I wanted and not even be on a leash! At first I didn't like the boat too much and tried to jump overboard so I had to wear this funny floaty-jacket thing, but it turned out to be a pretty fun thing to do. I got to chase alot of snakes and birds and got to sleep by a camp fire which I really liked.

Last week we went on a hike with some of my doggy friends and their humans to look for a 'haunted cemetery' whatever that is. We ended up hiking for 5 hours straight which was kinda crazy! Mom got so hot that she jumped into a dam with all her clothes on and I jumped in too! None of the other humans would come swimming with us but a few other doggies did so we didn't feel too left out.

Other than that I've mostly just been playing out side, chasing water from the hose, eating flavored bubbles, and going on walks. Mom is trying to make me walk better on a leash and I'm getting a little better, but sometimes I bark and growl at other dogs which she doesn't like at ALL. She says I gotta get used to walking on a leash cuz we're moving to the city soon. I don't wanna leave our house...

Long day

Today, I had to go to the vet. I always hate going there, it smells too much like other dogs and I bark and bark. The vet's helper says it's OK and that all Cairn terriers do it but still my mom feel's embarrassed. Then they made me get on this platform and hold still so they could tell how heavy I am but I just kept on barking and wiggling around. They guessed that I weigh about 19lbs... whatever that means. Mom says it means I'm too big for a Cairn terrier but I don't think I'm fat... I think I look good! I had to get two shots too... it hurt and made me have the runs. :(

Later, Mom took me on a walk. Probably cuz she thinks I'm a fatty now that I got weighed. But I was a very good boy, she didn't even have to put my face harnessy thing on me today! Now I'm off to take a nap, it's been a long day.

Been a while

It's been a while since I made an entry but things have been BUSY around here lately. My mom went away for a long time for something called 'Grooming school' and she just got back like a week ago. And then a few days ago, Daddy had to leave on a business trip for two whole weeks! Doesn't anyone ever stay in one place anymore?!

Anyway, I haven't been up to much. Just my same old trouble-making self. It seems like no matter what I do I always get in trouble. Like earlier today. Mom was in the shower and I was really bored, when I seen a water bottle on the coffee table. Well, Mom always gives me her empty water bottles to play with cuz I like the crackling noise they make when I chew on them so I thought I'd get up there and help myself to a little fun. Little did I know that I'm supposed to make sure they are EMPTY before I chew on them. When she came out of the shower I was running around the house with it in my mouth, and the water inside was spraying everywhere! She had to soak all the puddles out of the carpet with papertowels and wasn't too happy...

But it's OK. She loves me no matter what.

My first Halloween

So, yesterday was this thing called 'Halloween'. At first I was really nervous because Mommy and Aunt Cassy dressed up in these funny outfits and wouldn't let me jump up and bite their big skirts, which I had never seen before. Then, they made me and Buffy dress up in funny clothes too. I had to be a pumpkin and buffy was a panda, and boy did she try to get that thing off! As if all that wasn't bad enough, lots of strange ghoul-like things started showing up and ringing the doorbell, even though it was already dark outside! Me and Buffy tried to eat them ofcourse, so we got put in our kennels until we calmed down. What a way to thank someone for protecting you! After we got settled down they let us out and some of the little ghostie things tried to pet us. At first I didn't really want them petting me but that's before I realized that they smelled like all kinds of yummy candy! I decided that I liked these strange creatures after all, and decided to follow them when they left to get some candy of my own. Apparently dogs aren't allow to go trick-or-treating, because Daddy chased me down the sidewalk and took me back home. I think Halloween is overrated.

Exciting Day!

Yesterday, I went to Rice Creek for a hike with my friends. There was me, Buffy, Riley, Reiss, Meiko, and Grady all together. That's alot of us dogs running around free! I got so excited that I accidentally tried to hump Meiko, even though he is a boy and we are both fixed. Oops! Then when I got home I took a long nap on the couch while Mom watched TV. When I woke up I noticed a really big bug crawling towards the couch so I jumped up and barked at it like crazy so she would know its there. Nobody could get me to stop barking and growling till my Aunt caught that nasty thing in a cup. I wanted Mom to let me kill it but she wouldn't let me cuz it was Daddy's pet bug (he's really weird) but she was real happy that I didn't let it crawl anywhere near her. But I was just doing my job. Just another day for me!

Summertime Fun

We've been having tons of fun so far this summer. My grandpa took me to the lake to go swimming and to chase the waves and Mommy and Grandma took me to my aunt Trisha's house to play with my cousin Polly, who's a Dachsund. Then Mommy and Daddy bought me some really cute shirts from old navy and some cookies and cupcakes from the doggy bakery. They were going to let me take them on our picnic but I snuck downstairs last night and stole the cupcake and ate it, so I just had the cookies left. They did let me have some of the yummy human food they packed from the picnic though. Mmmm.... potato salad. Then after we ate we went hiking and I got to swim in the river and play fetch. I love summertime!!
