Arrival Story:
Crush just appeared at our house years ago. We were seeing a strange dog out in our pasture in the mornings. Our beagles didn't bark at him, but didn't socialize with him either. He wouldn't come near the house, but several times I caught him stealing our dog food and luring my dogs away from home. He was wild and bony, and I thought we might have to shoot him in order to protect our pets from his antics. Then one day my son was able to pet him. He stayed at the house from then on. Despite my attempts to find him a home, he continued to live at our place. I found him to be very intelligent, playful, and willing to learn. Every day when I got home from work, he met me at the truck and "talked" to me. He would paw me until I would pet him. I ended up getting attached to him and just keeping him. Since my (then)3 year old said he was orange, we called him Crush, like the orange drink.

Crush earned his CGC in July 2007. (Canine Good Citizen title from AKC) We are volunteers with Baptist Hospital of Beaumont a registered Intermountain Therapy Animals visiting team. We have also completed a novice rally obedience class and some basic agility. We hope to participate in a tricks class soon. My friends at the obedience school said Crush looked like an American Dingo (Carolina Dog). We had always teased him and said he was a dingo, but I didn't know at the time that there were dingo-like dogs across the Southern US. After some research, it appears that Crush is an American Dingo, a.k.a. Carolina Dog! He fits all of their descriptions for temperament, size, shape, and color! I can see why Carolina owners say they have the best dogs in the world! I agree!

Howdy Pups! My mom's been busy and forgetting to write for me, but we are doing well. We have been visiting patients at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont and were guest speakers at First Baptist Church in Saratoga earlier this fall. I was in our town's Christmas parade and got to visit lots of folks during the festivities afterwards. Just celebrated my fifth birthday and mom bought me a new squeaky. Yipee! I haven't killed it yet... Hope you are all doing well. Big wags! Love, Crush

Mom and I found another ministry doggie. He lives far away, but he helps his mom just like I do. He's a Delta Society Pet Partner like me, and he's way cool! Check out Reggie the giant Schnoodle at ! Keep up the good work, Reggie!
And Cotton, wherever you are, you're still my best girl...

Howdy furry friends!

Well, summer is here and it's as busy as last summer. Mom and I were the special guests at the opening day of the Kountze Public Library summer reading program. Mom says I was a hit. Our pictures appeared in two area newspapers! We haven't been to the nursing home lately, but we did get to help evaluate some new therapy dogs. I forgot to tell y'all about the big poodle who tried to attack me... I might have whupped him if mom hadn't scooped me up and carried me away. I would've showed him! LOL Just barking...
Anyway, I also got to go to VBS with mom and be the dingo for our Boomerang Express (Australian Outback) theme. More kids and tricks.
Hope y'all got to see Rockin' Rory on America's Got Talent. What a dog! Viva was pretty impressive too, with her front-legged walk. Good luck in Vegas, Doggies!
Y'all be good doggies and maybe I'll get to write again soon!
