Arrival Story:
Due to one of our Dal's, (Pepper), declining years, and our desire to not have just one Dal in the house, we started to talk about getting another rescue, a puppy this time. We came across Dalmatian Rescue of North Texas, who had a litter they were finding homes for. I wrote a long letter to them, with pictures of our secure, fenced in backyard, and pics of how spoiled Pepper and Stevie were. It was only after I sent the letter that I noticed that the rescue organization did not adopt out of Texas, due to their practice of doing home visits. BUMMER, as we were living in Minnesota at the time!! Nothing happened for a couple of weeks, until we got a call from DRNT, saying that, although they had never adopted out of state, they had also never received a letter like ours, and that if things could be worked out, we could adopt one of the two remaining Dals. We selected Jack, (named Bandit at the time), and worked with Ann Rutledge at DRNT to fly from Minneapolis to Dallas, pick Jack up at the airport, and fly home. Since then, we have fled from the north, and live happily in Austin!!!
Bio:
Jack's little sister, Sydney, is also a rescue pup from DRNT. Our family name is Daniel, so Jack seemed to be a good moniker for the boy!!
