An afternoon we'll never forget !!

Getting stronger every day...

Today we took Kirra out for her first real run at two-ball !!! Sha ran pretty hard for about 10 minutes then needed to lie down to rest. Kirra is walking GREAT but running alittle funny, she used to have a beautiful streaming gallop that was just amazing to watch and now she can gallop with her front legs but kicks both hind legs out at the same time...it's actully kinda cute but we are all just thrilled to have her here with us !!! It has been a rough two weeks because Kirra was used to her morning mile walks afternoon runs and nightly two- ball when her Dad came home. Now the vet has cleared her for moderate exersise which is great because she has had so much built up energy and frustration from bordom she has been a brat showing behaviors we haven't seen for along time. Now thank-God we will all be on the road to recovery getting back to our old routines. Thanks to all for everything..

Kirra just came home from the vet today and she has 7 stiches on her leg and her x-ray showed a crack in her pelvis !!! Our vet said she needs complete rest for 2-3 weeks and mother nature has a way of band-aiding the insides and hopefully she will be just fine if not she will go to the orthopedic for a second opinion !!! She is walking o.k. and being more spoiled then ever before !!! There were definatly angels lokking over her as well as all the angels here !!!! We both thank-all of you for your support and prayers !!!!

the WORST day of our lives

While playing catch Kirra darted down the driveway and stared running right into the road thank heaven the man saw her coming and was slowing down...but not in time Kirra slid right into the side of his truck then the back wheels came right over her !!! I could do nothing but run and scream, the man jumped from his truck while she was laying in the road crying the most heartbreaking crys she jumped to her feet trying to protect her mommy from this strange man then back down on the road she went !!! We got her into my truck and right to our vet, her left hind leg is coverd in severe deep road rash but the vet said to wait until Thursday to stich her up. The vet ran his hands up and down her hind quarters and said "she's a dog of steele" and one lucky girl !!!! Kirra has some anti-biotics and pain killers but will not use her back leg at all now !! I'm very concerned for my girl and alittle extra praying might do her some good !!!
