Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 13th 2005
 Likes: Let's play! Play! Play!

Pet-Peeves: The lawnmower.

Favorite Toy: Balls and sticks!

Favorite Food: Whatever is available... whenever it's available....tissue

Favorite Walk: @ the dog park...wooof!

Best Tricks: She holds the ball in her mouth and lofts it as if she's throwing it to us. Gracie does the usual sit, stay, paw (shake hands), down, which is more than our other dogs have done. She's very smart

Arrival Story: ONCE UPON A TIME: There was a puppy named Jerry Garcia who lived with a nice couple in a small apartment. Jerry Garcia was little and cute and loveable until, as puppies will do, she grew and grew. Soon she was bigger than the small apartment and she was stronger than her Mom, although she was still cute and loveable -- just in a big way. The nice couple was sad because they knew Jerry Garcia needed a larger place to live (that's where we came in).
TO DOG OR NOT TO DOG: When we heard about Jerry Garcia we rushed to meet her. We liked her right away. She was smart, friendly and ENERGETIC! So we went home to think about this wonderful dog who was going to be a challenge... could we handle her? "Yes!" we decided, "with the help of obedience training we could handle her!"
A NEW HOME: Finally, the big day came when we would take Jerry Garcia home with us. It was sad to take her from her original mom & dad. It was wonderful to know she was coming home with us. And it was scary trying to get her into our car! Once we got Jerry Garcia home, she was dubbed "Jerry-Gracie." Eventually, we dropped the Jerry and she became Gracie (which is practically an anagram for "Garcia"). We love Gracie and are grateful to the nice couple that let us adopt her.

Forums Motto: Goodness Gracie!!

Gracie: All white except for ears, which are a light butterscotch color.

So Dad took me out into the backyard the other day and you'll never guess what! There was the biggest pile of poop that some really big dog left for me right in the backyard. Well, of course I rolled in it right away and came up smelling really smelly, which is a good thing.
Dad was so happy for me he put me on the long line in the backyard so I could stay outside and bark and bark and bark -- telling everybody in the neighborhood about my new smell. And not only that but later Dad came out with the hose! I love the hose because it shoots water and you know how I feel about water. Dad aimed the hose at me and I bit the water and jumped around the water and basically showed the water who's boss.
Then Dad rubbed some stuff on me that smelled different. Not nearly as good as the poop I rolled in but I don't care because he rubbed me all over and that felt good. And if that wasn't enough, he aimed the hose at me again!
Then it was time to come into the house. We stopped in the laundry room for a quick dry. Dad got out The Towel and rubbed my back and my paws and my chest and ears and my back again and it felt so good!
I just can't wait for that big dog to leave me another pile of poop.

My mom took me to the Isle a la Cache Forest Preserve in Romeoville, IL where she FINALLY bought me a current permit for the dog park!!! Bow-WOW! Before we left Isle a la Cache, she let me run around the grounds. It was a cloudy day and no one was around so she let me run around without my leash (shhh!). I had a great time which got even better when I saw the big pond... I said to myself, "Look at all that water!!" I was beside myself... I was beside the big pond... and then... I jumped in! And she let me jump in again and again until I was so muddy as to be unrecognizable! And stinky?! Hah! I smelled really bad!! There just aren't enough exclamation points to describe how terrific my first swim of the spring was. However, all good things come to an end. We finally left the forest preserve and my mom took me for an emergency grooming. Darn it! In no time at all I was clean, there was hardly any smell at all and my nails were clipped. Talk about a bad ending to a great day.
But I know that we'll be back someday and when we are... SPLASH!! You can count on that.
Have a Bow-WOW spring!

Well, mom took me to get a bath. My "stylist" was very nice. Mom decided not to use any "phoo-phoo" stuff because I already smell like a dog. Who needs perfumes when you can just smell like a clean dog? So my stylist used hypo-allergenic, scent-free shampoo and didn't spray me with anything and I came out clean and bee-yoo-ti-full! The best part of the whole experience was the machine that was used to dry me. It was big and blue and it blew lots of wind at me which was great fun!! But how could I sit still with this big blast of air hitting me? I tried to jump on it and I barked at it and wagged my tail at it but it just sat there, blowing and blowing on me. I would have gotten the better of it if they hadn't put me in a crate. Next time I'll try sneaking up behind it...
