Arrival Story:
Levi was rescued twice-- once, from the Bellevue Humane Society, and once from a house that was unequipped to keep him. There was a lady at the shelter who had been by to see the caged Levi every day, and she even offered to pay for the adoption fee! She loved him, but she had an apartment, and she just wanted to see him go home. Levi spent 6 months behind bars, starting at only 6 months old. He had been in an awful house full of dogs and acted out like it. He's in a much better place now.

Bio:
Levi is excitable. He feels like a puppy at 1 year 10 months, and plays like it. But at 54 lb. he can really kick some ass. Because he spent 6 months in prison he never "got told" by older dogs growing up, so he goes full-throttle play at the biggest meanest dogs no matter what! We're working on that. UPDATE: We have worked with Levi for 6 months now, and he is a new dog! He can be trusted in dog parks and be trusted to walk away from a fight! Although he does retain some quirks... like, overly-dominant/submissive dogs trigger a strange dominance behavior in him, and he doesn't yet know to back off from a dog showing proper signs of submission after that. But, we're working on it. Levi is now the BEST heeler in the house, and absolutely the most calm. We sort of miss his "spirit" (but not anything else). He still roams far and wide, bless his wandering heart, but never away. I do not have to worry about him coming back-- he will always follow his pack. Levi is still a strange "little" dog, with a vague and mysterious personality, cunning, and a sense of irony. He is madly intelligent, putting Josie to shame.
