this is a cautionary tale for everyone on how being a big baby can really ruin your day............
so i've got some bad allergies going on right now as well as an ear infection and I see mom walking towards me with something in her hand of course I just know she's gonna clean my ears or spray that stuff on my belly so I went jetting out the doggie door toot sweet (outsmarted her, I did) ......
mom feigned confusion as why I would run from her and grabbed our leashes to take Dickens & I for a walk ...... well, let me tell you, she's pulled this stunt before and there is no way I was gonna fall for it again ...(come running back in all happy and doofy ready for a walk only to be scooped up and tortured with ear cleanings)....... so try as she might, I would not allow mom to coax me back into the house by jingling the leash and saying 'let's go for a walk TJ' .......... i'm just too smart for that ....... so i turn around to do a little 'lawn watering' and ya' know what that horrible woman does? she leaves out the front door to take Dickens for a walk! Just Dickens! Not Me! She really left without me! Left me home all alone!! What the?!?!?
So let this be a lesson everyone ~ yes, our peeps can be wily and tricky at times trying to coax us into doing things we might not want to do, but then again, they may just be trying to take us for a walk

Yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah ~ Dickens came in 2nd ~ all hail Dickens ~ Dickens is so cute ~ Dickens is so sweet .........arghhhhh!?!?! Can't a beagle with an impressive sausage-esque physique and a veritable library of quirks and nuerosis get a little love?!?!?
BOL! Just kidding! I'm so very proud of my brother and bestest buddy in the whole wide world! I am so proud of him and ya' know what? Mom's gonna make him share everything with me anyway! Bahahahahahahaha!!!
It's a good day! :-)

Hi All,
I'm TJ. My rescue name was Thor, but FM thought that was waaaaay too big a name for a little guy like me! I was on the euthanasia list at the pound (my yucky former owners just left me there knowing full well I was to be put to sleep the very next day). FM was at the kennel to pick up a little girlie to foster named Mindy, but when she walked past my kennel and saw how unbelievably sad I looked, she decided, 'what the heck' i'll foster them both! :-) YEY for me!
So Mindy & I get home and there's this goofy red-headed guy there already. Mom had told Mindy & I in the car that the red head, Dickens, was a very sweet pup, but didn't like to play with other doggies, so not to take it personally.
Mindy was FM's 21st foster doggie and I was #22 ~ Dickens had never shown any interest in playing before....... well, in I walk and *poof* wrestle-mania begins! :-)
Mommy fostered me for close to 2 months with no interest in anyone adopting me :-( , yes, I have a lots of quirks and neurosis, but i'm about the most loveable doggie ever! FM saw how nicely I was settling into her house and loved the fact that Dickens and I were instant friends, so she figured, 'eh, what the hey', 2 dogs can't be much harder than one, right? She went and signed my adoption paperwork that same day!
I love my home and although I still worry 'bout just about everything (mommy calls me her little old man), I think I have it pretty good here. I have a best friend to play with every day, lots of furniture to lay around (and shed on), plenty of food (being part beagle, can you ever have enough food though?), and a mommy that loves me dearly.
Although she refers to Dickens and I as 'her boys' all the time, I know the real story. She chose Dickens and Dickens chose me! YEY!
Mom says that we've brought her more joy and happiness than she could ever hope to return to us. She still fosters other doggies (and cries like a big ole' baby whenever they get adopted), but thinks she's the luckiest gal in the world to have us! Don't tell her, 'cause I don't want it going to her head, but we sorta think we're the lucky ones! :-)
Oh, and my name, TJ stands for Tazmanian Jellybean 'cause mommy says i'm 1/2 holy terror and 1/2 very sweet. :-)
XOXOXO,
TJ

Here's another of mom's favorite stories! :-)
Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.
He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"
The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean."
"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.
To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."
Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"
At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference to that one."

7 years ago today, after being rescued off the euthanasia list at teh pound and living with my new mommy as one of her foster doggies, mommy signed my adoption papers and made it official! I was home! And what a home it is! Comes complete with a best friend, Dickens, lots of fun furniture that i'm allowed to jump all over any time I want, and a mommy that bakes me homemade dog treats! Eh, not so bad huh?!
Mommy made me scrambled eggies for breakfast this morning (which i inhaled without bothering to chew), is about to take me on a loooong walk and who i'm sure has a couple other treats up her sleeve! Boy oh boy is this ever fun!
Thank you to all my pawsome pals for the wonderful woofday wishes, treats, gifts and rosettes. The best gift of all is being in a home that loves me dearly and having such amazing friends here on Dogster!
XOXOXOX,
TJ

Here it is- the newest craze going around Dogster! It's called "You are loved!" Here's how it goes: Pick 3 dogsters who you think are just fantastic and tell a little about why you feel that they are so pawsome! Be sure to tell them how much they are loved with a p-mail or a rosette! Isn't it hard to pick only 3?
I love each and every one of my pup pals very much and seriously, I had to think long and hard about my choices.
My pawsome friend Patan tagged me yesterday (my typist is a doof and it took her a day to realize I had a rosette waiting for me). Oh boy, what an exciting surprise it was! I love Patan and his whole family 'cause they are just good pups and kitty! So sweet, so smart, always willing to lend a paw to those in need and boy oh boy can that Patan dig! :-) Out of all their friends, I am truly honored to be one of his chosen pals.
I, in turn, have chosen to tag KrackerJack because, although one of my newer pals, I know how terrific he is already! So funny and kind. He's a great pup with a huge heart and i'm lucky to have him as my friend.
I have next selected Gracie Jane to tag. She is such a sweetie pie! She read many months ago what a hard time I was having with my allergies and she pawmailed me almost immediately to tell mommy about some remedy ideas to try on me. Gosh, what a sweetie! Truth be told, if she wasn't already spoken for by my good friend Gibby, I'd sure make a play for her.
Last, but certainly not least, I have chosen the wonderful Abbie to tag. Oh my goodness! What can I say about sweet Abbie. This little girl is just pawsome in every way imaginable! She runs one of the most popular games in AFF, and invests so much time and effort into making things fun for others. She always has an encouraging word to offer, is always there for us and is just an all around wonderful friend!
I am lucky to have all the amazing friends that I do, so thank you to each and every one of you for making my life happier and more complete! You're all pawsome!!!!!

So, after a year and a half, my less than brilliant mommy has finally figured out how the 'zoom' feature works on her camera! BOL! What a doof she is! She was so proud of herself and decided to celebrate by chasing me around the house today trying to get 'close up' shots of me! Being terrified of the camera, she mainly just got big blurs on me running away or hiding under pillows when it occured to me *smacking self in head*, if I just sit there and give here 2 semi-decent shots, maybe she will leave me alone!
She got her pictures, I have new traumas to add to my already bulging 'baggage', but mommy is happy and I think I am safe for another few months! :-)

Oh boy, I've been tagged twice! Once by my good buddy, Bailey, and then by my gorgeous friend, Gracie Jane, who i'm still trying to figure out how to steal away from her hubby Gibbon, shhhhh!
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Here are some fun facts about me!
1) I hide in the closet when I get scared (which is a lot)
2) I give mommy hugs by standing on her lap and wrapping my paws around her neck
3) I don't 'wag' my tail......I BANG it
4) I do a happy dance like you wouldn't believe every time it's meal time
5) I like to watch mom at VERY close range while she is sleeping (sometimes i accidentally get to close and end up poking her in the eye with my nose!
6) I don't very much like to share my mommy's attention
7) Dickens and I are very lucky to be rescue pups!
I am off to tag these friends:
Honey
Bessie
Rosie
Kuai Kuai
Hoover
Trixiemae
Cheech
Have fun everyone!!!!!!
XOXOXOXO,
TJ

Well, mommy got a brilliant idea last night (that's never good news for me). I have been having a very tough time with my allergies this season and have been chewing/licking at my front little armpits until they are raw....Mom has tried everything - savs, bandages, etc.... to get me to stop (she gives me benadryl, but that just makes me loopy). Anyway, last night she got the idea to put a t-shirt on me! Hello??? I'm a dog!!
She ran out first thing this morning to buy a toddler t-shirt for me (apparently i'm a 24 month size :-) and just put it on me! I'm mortified! I look silly, I can't lick at my little armpits and gosh darn it! It's too dang hot to be wearing clothes!
I know what's coming next.......mom is going to chase me around the house with a camera today so she can properly document my hummiliation!
