Arrival Story:
We got Harley Jo for free from a breeder who had waited too long to sell them and they couldn't get their ears cropped. My wife always wanted a great dane but Harley Jo picked me when we got to the breeders house. She was a Daddy's Girl from the word go. If I didn't kiss her first when I got home from work she would snub me for about 5 minutes!! LOL She brought so much into our lives. At the age of 4 years 7 months, we thought she had a cold that would not go away. She had the sniffles for about 2 weeks so we took her to the Doc. He found that she had a tumor in her media stenum and sent us to Oklahoma State University Vet Hospital. We had several test ran and numerous trips to the Hospital to find out that she had lymphoma that had almost doubled in size in the week since the doc had found it. The tumor had closed off her esophagus the last day and we made the decision to have our Child's pain and suffering put to rest. That was the hardest decision we ever made, she knew what was going on and I had stayed home from work that last day to spend it with her. She comforted me all day, when I should have been the one comforting her. That was how smart she was. She was placed on our grounds with her stuffed toys and her bling bling on. Anytime she went outside the yard she insisted on have her jewerly on, Collar. It has been almost 5 years since her passing and a day doesn't go by that we don't think about her. Our hearts broke that day, March 03, 2002, but rejoice knowing that some day soon we will be reunited as we cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
