Leave a bone for Copper
Nicknames: My full name is Copper Sunset and my nicknames are Copper Puppy; Copper Top; Copper Chopper. Mom calls all of us Pomeraniacs because we are wild & crazy Maniac Pomeranians. We don't mind, we think it is funny and we are proud to be Pomeraniacs!
Likes: I love puppy massages, belly rubs and barking at everyone through the front window.
Pet-Peeves: I hate that mailman that walks by my window every day. Those small humans bug me (what are they called? oh yeah, CHILDREN!) and motorcycles make me crazy!
Favorite Toy: Dirty laundry, unfortunately!
Favorite Food: Greenies. Human food. Whatever I can get.
Favorite Walk: Dog park. Anywhere - I love to walk.
Best Tricks: I learned how to "sit" in ten minutes after mommy finally decided to teach me.
Arrival Story: I was Mom's first dog ever and she had no idea what to do with me when she brought me home. Mommy and Daddy had just bought their first house and they talked about it and decided to get a puppy. Mom always thought pomeranians were the cutest breed. They went to a pet store (they didn't know that you aren't really supposed to do that) and I was the only Pom there. Mom wasn't sure if she wanted me or not because I was already four months old and she really wanted a baby puppy. The pet store lady talked Mom into it by cutting the price - this was Mom's first clue that pet stores may not have the best interest of pets in mind. It was a 'high pressure' sales situation. So, Mom & Dad got me and we learned a lot together! Teaching me to go potty outside when I had never seen grass was quite a challenge.
Bio: My name is Copper Sunset and I have four brothers and sisters to take care of as well as Mommy and Papi. I was named after Copper the Fox from Fox and the Hound because I looked like a little red fox when I was a baby. Everyone keeps me so busy. I am a Daddy's Boy and my favorite thing to do is hang with my Dad in the Men Den. Mommy likes to snuggle and smooch me a lot but I think I am too tough and big for all that. I am a man's dog but I LOVE to wear clothes. I weigh 12 pounds but I think I am a lot bigger. When dogs walk by my house, I let them know who rules the block.

I just wanted to check in - I haven't written a "blog" in a while. I hope every fur had a good holiday season and that you are all having a good 2009 so far.
I had a great Christmas. Mom & Dad went out of town to stay in a lil victorian cottage in a cute town called Eureka Springs, AR. I got to go with them because I love to travel and we had so much fun. The rest of the Pomeraniacs stayed home and our auntie and uncle stayed at the house ad took care of them.
Mom tooks some pics of us on our trip. It was very cold but we had a good time, exploring the little town and relaxing in front of the fireplace.
I am doing well but still a lil chubby. Mom knows she is gonna be in big trouble when I go back to the vet for my annuals, which will be in February. I haven't lost any weight and she is worried that I may have gained some more. She should probably walk me more.
OVerall, I am looking forward to a great new year. I hope you are all healthy & happy!
Hello friends - Copper here to say hello and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! It is around the corner & I have been thinking that I have a lot to be thankful for ...
My Mom & Dad who takes such good care of me and spoil me rotten
Good friends on Dogster who make me feel so special & happy
A nice home to destroy when I feel like gettin' rowdy (Mom, that was Tux who ripped up that magazine - NOT ME)
Greenies (they never get old, do they?)
Walks at Burns Park - my new favorite hangout!
Yes, I am a lucky pup!
I hope all of my friends are doing well - I love you all and wish you a great holiday!
Last weekend, I had a vet appointment for my checkup and vaccinations. Guess what? I am fat! Mom & Dad didn't even know! They thought I was filling out nicely and lookin' pretty handsome. I gained 2 pounds which is a TON for a small dog!
So, the great news is that I am on nutrisystem for dogs. Not cool. I used to get to eat as much as I want, whenever I want. Now I am fed twice a day, rationed like there is a shortage of Natural Balance in my house. I am not happy! Treats have to be cut back too. And I might as well forget about Saturday night movie and popcorn time! That is a thing of the past. My fave! Sweet buttery micro popcorn! I could just cry.
But I have to do it. I have bad knees & eventually I will have to get that darn knee surgery all the poms keep talking about. The less weight I am lugging around, the better. Thanks, Dr. House!
On the bright side, I had a great Valentine's day. We got so many cute cards from our friends! We love you guys so much!
