Will be SIX years old in August!May 8th 2012 9:21 am[ Leave A Comment ] Wow! I can't believe that I'll be SIX years young on August 8th! I am so lucky to have found my forever home. I love my Mommies dearly. Whenever one of them leaves, even for a few minutes(it seems like forever!), I just have to lick them to tell them how much I missed them! And, best of all, my Mommies love me soooo much!
Walking at the Hammond Trail and at the Arcata MarshNovember 16th 2010 10:22 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My favorite thing to do is to take walks on the Hammond Trail and at the Arcata Marsh. Sometimes my people will even let me sniff when I want to and check out all the p-mail that all sorts of creatures have left. It is getting harder to go out now when it gets dark at 5:00pm!
Passed Canine Good Citizen Class!November 16th 2010 10:20 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I officially passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Class and got my "official" certificate! I am still a little shy around people, especially children who run up to me screaming, "It's a wiener dog!"
Basic Obedience Class with HumDogs!February 9th 2010 3:44 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My Moms have been taking me to Basic Obedience class at Redwood Acres with HumDogs. Mark Nichols is the instructor and he has lots of helpers. I have been doing really well and so have my Moms. It is sometimes REALLY hard not to smell everything on the floor and pay attention to what I am supposed to be doing like heeling, turning left-right, turning around, sitting, laying down (why would anyone want to do this on cold concrete??!) and *staying* - why in the world would a dachshund want to stay in one place??!
SWAM in the Eel River near Stinky Beach!May 20th 2007 4:26 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My Mom's were sooo proud of me! I actually followed my friend Ginger (a really cute Coon Hound) into the Eel river and I SWAM for a few minutes! My Mom's didn't even know that I could swim! It was really fun. They even let me off my leash and I got to follow Ginger and Jess (Blue Heeler) around the beach for hours. On the walk back to the car, I was really tired. But, I made it and can't wait to go back!
First Visit to Clam BeachMarch 3rd 2007 9:55 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My Moms took me to Clam Beach for a walk today since it was the first sunny day in several weeks! It is the first time that I have ever been to Clam Beach. They put a really long leash on and I got to run around a LOT! I really like the ocean and had lots of fun playing, running and chasing ocean bubbles! I wish we lived somewhere warmer so that I could take walks on the beach more often. I had a really fun time! They even let me dig in the sand!
Running "free"February 19th 2007 10:03 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Yesterday I got to run somewhat "free" on a new really long retractable leash! We went to the grassy area in front of the cemetery.
"Starting" to get the hang of this housetraining thing!February 19th 2007 10:00 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Every time I go outside to go potty, my Moms have this long stuffed wiener dog that hangs from the door and has bells on it. For some reason, every time I go outside, they take my paw and hit the bell and say, "Go Outside - Shiu-bin(pee) - Outside!"
Long Drive Home to Arcata from SacramentoFebruary 7th 2007 9:39 am[ Leave A Comment ] My new Moms and I drove ALL the way from Sacramento to our home in Arcata, CA. I was such a good dog, I slept most of the way. Even though I was sleeping, I think they kept looking at me adoringly and are so happy that I chose them to be my family!
First Friends in SacramentoFebruary 7th 2007 9:37 am[ Leave A Comment ]
My Moms picked me up at the airport in Sacramento and we drove to our friends Brenda, Greg, Ella, Wolfie and Bear's home in Scarmento and stayed there for 2 days. It was fun to meet new people and get to know my new Moms! I think they love me very much! They keep saying how cute I am!
