We had a really bad storm here in Sacramento about 4 years ago. The winds were terrible, and my gate kept getting blown open. One day when I arrived home from work I saw the gate open, and thought to myself "I really need to fix that latch".....as I approached the gate I heard barking.......coming from my yard.........and then I saw a dog charging towards me from my porch! I ran an got back into my car. I called my mother from my mobile, and asked "Why is there a dog in the yard?" She replied...."She showed up this morning a few minutes after you left for work"..........;-) My mom told me that she ran into our yard when the gate was blown open, and made herself at home out of the rain on one of the overstuffed chairs on the porch. My mother came out, and calmed her down so I could enter my own yard........lol. So, I had to find out where she came from........I called several vets in our area.........placed an ad in the newspaper, and called the shelters. No one was looking for her. She has been with us since.........
