I had to say goodby to my family today

When I wrote my diary entry last night, we all thought that I was going to be able to stay with my family another few weeks or months. That is not what was meant to be. I woke up this morning and found it very difficult to breathe. Mommy doubled my medications to see if that would help. It didn't. I kept following Mommy and Daddy around trying to take care of them like I always do, but I just could not breathe well enough to do my job. I finally laid down and looked at my Daddy and told him that I was very tired and that I needed to rest. Mommy and Daddy took me to the vet and we said our goodbye to each other. My Daddy was my special person in my life and it was very hard to leave him. My Mommy kissed me on my nose and said that it is now my job to take care of my brothers and sisters that were waiting for me in heaven. My Mommy's Uncle Terry is waiting for me too. He loved me very much. I hate having to leave my sister Gloria. She has never been alone without me since she came to live with us. She still has Harley Dude, Pugsley and Maynard G Krebbs to take care of her though. I will be watching over everyone from high above, so don't worry about me.
I loved my life after I was rescued and now there will be so much to do to still care for my family left behind.

Health News

Well, I have to update everyone that I have not been doing so well the last couple of months. Mommy took me to the Vet to see why I was losing weight so quickly, and why I have been so tired. It seems that I have congestive heart failure and fluid around my heart and lungs. There also seems to be some spots on my heart and lungs. My kidneys are having some problems holding my water till I get outside sometimes too. I am now taking blood pressure medication once a day and lasik twice a day. I am breathing quite a bit better now. I do stress out very easily and then find it difficult to breathe. I am trying to maintain my cool and keep things in order around here.
Mommy and Daddy are very worried about me. One thing in my favor is I get to eat anything and everything I want!
My sister Gloria is not doing really well either, so we are taking care of each other.

New RV!

Mommy and Daddy decided that we all missed going on adventures in an RV. They decided that Gloria and I needed to get on the road again. We checked out our new home on the road. It is not nearly as big as the one we had before, and we can't drive this one, but we are going to enjoy it.
We have been to alot of places and want to go again. Mommy won't leave us in a kennel or with a pet sitter. She says it is because we are older and she needs us with her. We like that plan! The cats will stay home and party while we are gone. They like that plan! Check out the pictures of us in the RV!

Happy Birthday To Me!

I was 13 years old on June 1st! At least that is my made up birthday that we celebrate. I feel pretty good, and I look pretty great, even if I do say so myself. I get the respect I deserve, except sometimes the cats "smooch" alll over my face and get Cat Cooties on me. They say it is because they love and respect me. Yeah Right! I know what is really going on, they just want Mommy to think they are wonderful and sweet. She doesn't really know them like I do.
There were cats here when I came into the house, and Mommy says there will always be cats in the house. So, I just give up and live with it. After all, I am a lucky dog to have come into this family. I love them and protect them. I am going deaf now, and don't hear things as well as I once did. I count on Gloria to listen out and tell me when I should bark. We are a great team. As long as we are working together nothing is going to happen to our family. I will be taking care of Daddy when he gets back from the hospital in a couple of days. I love my Daddy more than anything. When I was found in the middle of the road as a baby, my Daddy needed me to take care of him of him then too. I have been doing a great job ever since too! Nobody can take care of my Daddy like I can. When the visiting nurse comes, I sit or stand by Daddy with my paw on him. She says she is glad to see that I love my Daddy so much. She asks me if I think that she is doing everything ok. I would not let her touch him at all if I didn't trust her. She pets me and tells me what a good job I do. I like Nurse Linda!

This is all about me!

My life is wonderful! I love my human Daddy and Mommy so much. Ok, ok, so I love my sister Gloria too. I am being told by my Mommy that I must mention my 3 kitties, and that I love them too. Their names are Tazzy, Harley Dude and Pugsley.
My job is taking care of my Daddy. He has a lot of days that he doesn't feel well, and I have to watch him every minute. If he makes a noise that I don't understand, I run and get my Mommy. Sometimes I ask my sister, Gloria, to watch him for a bit so I can take a little break.
Mommy needs watching too. She doesn't think so, but she does!
My secondary job is to watch the cats. Harley Dude and Pugsley sometimes cornor Tazzy and try to start a fight. That doesn't last too long, because I jump in there and give them a little make believe growl and a nip. They don't understand that Tazzy is 15 yrs old and deserves to be treated lots nicer.
We all made it through the Tornado that came through here a couple of nights ago. We are very lucky. I was nervous, and I knew that something was not right outside. I woke my Mommy up at 3:45 am and the tornado hit 1/8 mile from us at 4 am. My Mommy told me that I was so wonderful to worn us like that. Some of my friends about 4 miles away were not so lucky. Their house had lots of damage.
