I went to Rainbow Bridge today. It is so beautiful here. My Mommy and Daddy were crying when I went to sleep. I don't hurt any more and Peggy Sue was waiting for me. She is showing me around heaven, and we are being taken care of by our human Grandmother who is here with us.
I am not hurting any more!

My Last Vacation to NC and GA, and Good Bye to my Friends

Mommy and Daddy took me in the RV with them to go see friends in NC and GA. It is the first ever trip that I have taken without my sister Peggy Sue. I really had a hard time getting around this trip. I told my Mommy that I am ready to go to heaven and be with my sister Peggy Sue. I can hardly walk at all anymore. I am a big girl, and Mommy and Daddy have to lift me in and out of the truck and the RV. My Grandma is waiting for me in heaven too, I just know it. She will take very good care of me, and Peggy Sue. All my kitties will be there too! Mommy said so. We visited Elvis, Buster, and Miss Ellie Mae in GA. I really love their Mama and Daddy! They said good by to me, and had tears. I tried to tell them not to worry, that I am going to a wonderful place at Rainbow Bridge. My Mommy told me there were tears beacause humans are so selfish, and never want their animal friends to leave them. Mommy asked that Peggy Sue and I continue to take care of them, like always.
I am content to know that tomorrow Dr John will make me comfortable and my humans will let me go on. I would like to ask for prayers for my Mommy and Daddy, as they are already crying for me.

It seems that my hind legs are not getting any stronger, and the older I get the harder it is for me to get around. I have gotten to the point that I wait for my Mommy and Daddy to help me walk through the house with them holding on to me, or just by walking with me and telling me I can do it.
My long greyhound legs are hard to manage and slip out from under me in the rear. I have also started walking on the top of my two back feet. They don't always straighten out under me. Mommy worries and the vet says there is really nothing we can do. I stick pretty close to my sister Peggy Sue. She is having trouble breathing with her congestive heart failure. My body is ok and works fine. It is just these darn back legs.
I am taking a pain killer every day and that helps. Just wanted everyone to know that getting old is not fun.

My humans bought me another RV. It has been several years since we have had one. I love going to campgrounds and meeting other doggies. We are special. I am a little shakey on my arthritic legs, and Peggy Sue can't hear anymore, but we will still have fun. I can't wait to go and see our cajun cousins in Louisianna. Check out the pictures of us in the RV!

Invasion of the Armadillos

This morning my sister, Peggy Sue and I went out for our usual morning activities. That consists of "potty" and then directly back into the air conditioning. Not this morning. We were invaded by two armadillos that did not know that they were in our territory. It was a good thing they were on the other side of the fence in the deep woods. I guess they are not aware of our reputations as GUARD dogs.....(yeah right!) It was a sight to see that two old girls like us could still run off the bad guys. I don't walk so well any more, but I was actually running and bouncing this morning. My sister doesn't hear well anymore, but she is still really fast on her feet. We make a great team!
Now it is time to rest. Air Conditioning is wonderful! The armadillos are still out there, but after a nap, there will be plenty of time to scare them again!

I am ME!

I went to see my Vet Doctor, and I have now been diagnosed with really bad arthritis. I am taking Deramax every day now. The bones in my front ankles are all swollen. My Mommy worried about the Deramax, but Dr John assured her that it was no worse for me than the Celebrex she takes for arthritis. If it helps take it! I love my Mommy and Daddy so much. They lift me in and out of the truck when we go for rides. My long arthritic greyhound legs just are not strong enough for me to jump for myself. They go out from under me really fast. I will be helping to take care of my Daddy again starting in a day or two. He is having another surgery, and he can not be left alone at all. Peggy Sue and I take turns. One of us will be with him all the time. Mommy sometimes needs a break! Of course, the cats are absolutely worthless when it comes to helping taking care of Daddy. Oh, they lay all over him and purr and stuff, but they don't bark for Mommy when Daddy needs something. The cats certainly won't go find Mommy like we do, when Daddy is hurting. I guess cats are ok for the "comforting'" of humans, but it is us dogs that really do the HARD work taking care of them!

I am a happy Dog!

I am a beautiful Greyhound/Shepherd mix girl. I know this because my human Mommy and Daddy tell me all the time. They wouldn't lie!
I was found wandering around the Lake Helen area by animal control. I went to the West Volusia Humane Society. They told me that I was a SAD case. They made everything all better. I ate for the first time in days when I got there.
After a lot of medicine and good food, I was allowed to see people that came to visit. My Grandma and Daddy picked me out for my Mommy's Xmas gift. I was so happy. I went to a forever home. Peggy Sue saw me and thought they brought me home just for her.
Everyone said that we were joined at the hip. I was so afraid of everything. Peggy Sue taught me the rules of the house, and was my protector.
I am so happy. I used to jump way up in the air chasing butterflies and stuff. Now I have trouble walking and doing every day things. My hind legs don't work like they used too. My Dr told me it was a pinched nerve in my back and to take it easy. So I do!
