Leave a bone for Jacob Harley's Ghost

Nicknames: Jake, Jay-KAH, puppy, bahba ganoush, Jakey, Jakey-poo, Hammerhead, the monster, bahba ganoushki poopy,

 Quick Bio:
Likes: I like being anywhere with mom and dad, being outside without a leash, softball games, chewing on rawhide bones, sticks, big rocks, sucking on one particular comforter (very enthusiastically), and basically I just like to run around and bark a lot.

Pet-Peeves: Being alone, baths, nail trimming, having my feet touched, strange noises

Favorite Toy: It used to be a stuffed duck, but we've moved on to a rubber chicken because I've destroyed the duck

Favorite Food: Cottage cheese, followed by peanut butter, and milk-bones, also ice cubes. I'm not allowed to have most people food though.

Favorite Walk: Down to the end of the road to see my old mom Harley, and her friend Sarge, the great dane.

Best Tricks: Sit, shake, down, roll-over, speak, up, up,up. Sometimes I get so impatient when I see the treat that I just throw the paw out or gets down right away before I know what trick they want to see.

Arrival Story: Jake's mom lives down the road with a friend of ours. It was the first time they decided to have puppies with her. She had 8 puppies, and Jake was the last one to go. We weren't sure if we had enough time to take care of a puppy because we both work full time, but we decided to try it, and I'm so glad we did! He is a very happy puppy, and he makes us even happier.

Bio: Jake is seven months old now and weighs about 75 pounds. He's a big guy, but he's still a puppy and is very rambunctious. He definitely matches the descriptions of other weimaraners. He barks like a big mean scary dog when he hears anybody coming, even mom and dad when he can see it's them! But then, when we're out at a softball game or somewhere else, he wants to go meet every other dog , and whines to go see them. He thinks everyone should be his friend. He is just like a shadow and has to be in the room with someone at all times. Unlike some dogs, he hasn't picked a favorite between his mom and dad. He likes us both equally and has a hard time deciding where to be when we're both in seperate rooms.
He's such a cool puppy with a terrific sweet and funny personality, and this bio does not do justice to that. Everyone who meets him thinks he's a pretty special puppy-dog though. We can't imagine being without him, and even think we may have to get a few more puppies like Jake in the future.
Bottom line, best dog in the whole wide world! (I'm only a little biased.)

Well, I'm back to my old self again after the littler-er-sugury. It went off without a hitch. I, however, did not like my bandage and decided to tear it off. Mommy and Daddy kept putting it back on me. Sometimes 5 times a day! When I went back to the doctor he wasn't very happy with me. I never touched the boo-boo, but I must have torn a stitch out with all that tugging. So I'll have a little scar. So what. I'm a big male dog and I'm tough. Besides, chicks dig scars, right? Right?
I have lost a little weight now too from running around in the nice weather. I'm down to about 105. I know, I know, that's big for a Weim. I'm a giant Wiem.
I got my doggy diploma too. I am a very good dog when I'm on my leash and we're out in public now. Mommy can sit down for most of the softball games. She gives me lots of water and a bone to chew on too. Mmmmmmm....bones...(sigh.) She still has to get up a time or too because I get ansty and want to go for a little walk and see the other dogs and people.
Ok. This giant wiem has to go off and chase some birds outside. I can see them right through the window....Please let me out right now!!!!

Wow...I've been so busy, I haven't had time to think about my diary. Let me catch you up.
I've gotten even bigger! In fact, I had my yearly shots and stuff earlier this month, and they said I was too chubby. But the weather is gettig nicer, and I've been running around a lot more outside. Mom says I've already slimmed down quite a bit. They also took me off the puppy food abouta month ago, so I'm sure that helped.
I also started doggie training classes. Last night in fact. I learned to sit, which I already do for treats, but this time I had this weird collar on, and did it just because they asked me too. Weird. I also learned to heel. I guess that means I walk beside mommy and daddy and don't stop and pull on the leash. I also learned stay. I do that one at home too, but it's different when I know I'm staying for a treat and I'm not on a leash.
I had a good time after I got used to being told what to do. There were a lot of other dogs there, and some of them had the funny collars too. A lot of the people said I was pretty.
Mommy says she wants me trained cause she wants to keep taking me to softball games to watch daddy play this summer. She doesn't want to be dragged around this year. I don't know why not. I had so much fun last year! I wasn't even as big as I am now, and I still managed to tip her chair right over and drag her for a couple of feet. I wanted to go so hi to another dog. He he he. But this year mommy's tummy is bigger. She's going to have a baby in August, so I guess that's why she doesn't want to be pulled on anymore. Boy did she hate putting that collar on me though.
One last thing... I have to have surgery next week to remove a benign tumor on my right foreleg. Daddy noticed it last week, and it got bigger, so they took me in to the vet. He likes me and says I'm smart. He said it's one of the few tumors that young dogs can get, and said 4 out of 5 times they keep getting bigger, so he's gong to remove it. I have to go stay overnight on Monday and have surgery on Tuesday. I don't think I'll like that very much, but I know when I get home I'll get lots of extra treats and attention.

My momma says that my birthday is coming up. I am going to be one year old. I don't really know what that means. Maybe it means that I get some new toys. They don't seem to bring me home any stuffed squeaky toys anymore. I don't know why not. It's so much fun to find the squeaky and kill it, and then pull out all of the stuffing. I can usually do it in 5 minutes.
My mom also says I am a big boy. I weigh about 95 pounds. She says that's sort of big for a weimaraner, whatever that is. But she says I am still just a puppy. Don't tell anyone, but I still cry sometimes when I want to get up on the couch with them, and they want me to stay down. I usually get tired of whining and just jump up there. If I'm lucky they give in and let me stay up there. Then I lay on top of both of them and snore. They love me.
