Arrival Story:
Nika was one of three available puppies from a reputable breeder in Washington. When we saw her along with her sister and brother, she immediately won our hearts with her clown like antics and adorably clumsy behavior. She was incredibly affectionate and adored human attention and was eager to meet and play with our Pomeranian, Mazie, who was to be her new sister. The story of her struggle for survival in her early months also convinced us of her strong will and we knew we had to include her in our family. Today, Nika is strong and happy and brings joy daily into the lives of her Mom and Dad.

Bio:
When born, Nika was abnormally small and was immediately neglected by her mother. Luckily, the breeder intervened and took Nika under her own care and she nursed Nika herself which insured Nika was going to survive despite her unlucky birth. After being adopted by us, we found out after a year with her that she had a liver shunt which was affecting her nervous system and required immediate attention and surgery. Luck again was on her side because we were able to find an experienced and reputable vet in town who was able to perform the surgery without any complications. Now Nika is a healthy 4 pound girl with lots of spunk and a true zest for life.
