Arrival Story:
I had been searching to adopt a small senior for almost a year -- scouring the Internet and local pounds. I had an impossibly long list of criteria and figured I'd never find what I was after. In late June 2004 I found his picture at a shelter I hadn't looked at before. In his picture he looked more like a shitzu. I drove out to see him the next day and found the poor boy's rear matted with feces. At the shelter I gave him a bath and clipped out the matts, and spent almost 2 hours with him. I introduced him to Matea whose ambivalence was more promising than I could have dreamed. We were able to take him on a day-visit on Sunday, and we made the most of it! I was anxious and stressed, worried about how life would change with a 2nd dog in the house, but all those anxieties were gone when Morley was in my arms. Morley is the sweetest soul I have ever met. He's still coming out of his shell a bit, but I was in love within hours of him joining us. He has filled the hole that was left in my heart when Murph was taken from me, and he has brought a contentment to my life in just these few short days that I hadn't dreamed possible.

Bio:
Morley was found as a stray. When the owner was contacted, she told the shelter to keep him. She'd had Morley (then Buddy) for only a few weeks and he was constantly escaping from the house because of her children. In his previous family, I'm told, he didn't get along with the toddler. Well, their loss and our gain. Morley is a big love. He adores children, he loves his new big yard, and he LOVES his new raw diet. And me, well, I have found my heart-dog again...
