A Dog's Prayer 2
To Those Who Love & Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have each shown.
But now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
It is only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart,
I will not be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".

August 1st, 1998 was when I met my family on that fateful day at the PetCo adoption fair. I was a little bit sick with a URI and had just gotten out of the hospital for my neuter, but they loved me anyway and the rest was history. I was around 7 months at the time and a wee lad of a mere 50 pounds (a lightweight for sure). Over the next 6 months I over doubled my weight and topped out at about 125 pounds. I admit now that I was a little chunky and was tapered down to 118 pounds, which was my normal weight for most of my life. I enjoyed almost 10 years with my family and I always loved having the love and security of a family. 10 years on earth wasn't long enough for my family, but for me there were no regrets. That day back in 1998 when they picked me and I picked them was a moment in time to be forever treasured. Love lived to the fullest is never regrettable and that is what I had with my family. The motto Live, Laugh, Love is so true. Enjoy each day.
Love,
Bru

Imagine my great surprise to receive an invitation today from my little buddy Kodiak. OK, so he's not really little but he will always be little to me ;) Hope you don't mind Kody
Anyway, I must be an angel with an angel to have been bestowed with such a great honor as being chosen as Hang-n-with the Big Dogs, Big Dog of the Month for the month of June! To think, for the whole month of June they will see my handsome mug as the Group Logo icon. Does life, or afterlife get any better than that? BOL
Also, thank you to the terrific admins for choosing me and thanks to Lexi, who will be handing me the reigns in just a few days.
I am one humbled angel
Love,
Bru
