10 years old tomorrow!

Finally some good news around here! Mia had surgery last month and Yuki is in surgery right now as I type but all that changes tomorrow when I celebrate my 10th birthday!! Double digits here I come.

Eye update!

I have to say, whatever was in that shot at the vet's office really helped the swelling in my eye. Within hours it looks loads better and now basically all the swelling is gone! The wound on the outside is healing and we hope the inside of the eyelid is healing correctly. I am still getting eye drops 3-4 times a day and mom says I am the perfect patient! She doesn't realize I just really want that delicious treat afterward. So far so good so thank you all for the power of the paw.

By the way, we are so glad to be home now.

This is the thanks I get?

I'm here at Grandma's house, just trying to help her recouperate from her knee surgery and what thanks do you think I get? Well, I'll tell you - a big fat swollen eye is what I got! Grandma's dogs were so excited to see her after she got home from the hospital that they decided to fight each other over her. When I went to check out the commotion, Sunny turned and bit my eye. It got all swollen and mom rushed me to the vet. I'm very lucky because the puncture missed the eye itself and only tore the lower eyelid. I was given a shot for pain and swelling and I have some eye drops to to be given throughout the day. I also have to have my eye iced for swelling (not a fan of these icing treatments). The vet feels as long as the wounds inside the lid heal without scabbing or scarring, the eye should be just fine. So, I sure hope it heals well. I have an opthamologist for my cataract, but I am hoping I won' have to see him for any follow-up treatments for this. My wounded eye is actually my good eye so wish me luck :(

Anyway, that is my Indiana adventure so far, I think I will let the little dogs go next time. Hrumpf, to think I thought this would be fun.

I'm taking a trip!

Me, yes me and only me! I get to travel down to Indiana to visit with Grandma for a few days with mom and the hubro. I'll be able to see Sunny and Sneaker when I am there, although Sunny doesn't like me. It's not my fault, he doesn't like anypup. Grandma had surgery today and will need a helping paw when she gets home. The little pups are staying home with dad and the other hubro. I'm just so excited I was chosen to go, I can hardly contain myself! WooooooWooooooo!!

Happy Birthday to me!

I suppose I better enjoy this year as it is the last of my single digit birthdays. Yikes! Can I really be 9 already? Oh well, I will still get my McDonalds or DQ tonight to celebrate. The best thing about birthdays is the delicious goodies that come right along with it. Oh, and Happy Birthday to those who celebrate their day along with mine. Lets make this one fantastic year ahead!

4. I think rolling in the snow is one of the greatest pastimes! I have doggie angels all over the yard.

5. Finally, sleeping on the bed with mom and dad is the best way to wrap up the day.

My Auntie Liz got a new collar for me. She always thinks of me and will send daddy home with goodies for me. She's the best auntie ever!! I'm one lucky pup. Today is cold and it is sleeting outside. It's a good day to just lay around and watch a movie.

Pawsome birthday!

I had such a pawsome birthday today! I'd like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and pressies, they mean a lot to me and I appreciate them.

I got a dingo bone today as well a couple new plushie toys and last week mom made me some homemade biscuits and frosty paws. I also got to take a ride to Dairy Queen for a special dinner. I got a cheeseburger and ice cream cone. It was such a great day and I'm very happy.

I've been with my family for 5 years now and that should mean I'm eight years old. I'm still the same Chester I was then today. I added a few pics and short video. Thanks again for helping me to celebrate my big day.

Pawsome gift!

My Auntie Liz sent me a pawsome birthday gift. I got a biscuit mix with a bone shaped cookie cutter. Mom decided to make them early since the weather was cooler and we all got to try them. Delish! Of course, I'm not picky but I love when mom makes homemade treats. I get all excited because I know they are for me! Then mom made a batch of Frosty Paws. I can't wait for my birthday on Monday, I just know I'll get something good. I even hear the golden arches will be in my future. Doing the happy dance with anticipation.

Thank you Auntie Lizzy! I loved my pressie.
