My new sister Petunia

Well I can hardly believe it! Mom and Dad brought me home a new sister today! Her name is Petunia and she is a 10-year-old Bichon who was given up by her owner, but we don't know why. She was at the Animal Rescue League for three months because nobody wanted a 10-year-old dog. But we do! She is so much fun! Right now we are just getting used to each other, but I think she likes me too! She has some adjustment to do, Mom and Dad say, because she was in the shelter for so long. Even though I want to play with her all the time, Mom and Dad say we need to give her some quiet time so she can rest up because she is not as young as me, and she is adjusting to our home. Mom and Dad, Petunia is so much better than all of my toys put together, arf arf arf!!!

Housebreaking, Part Two

Well OK, I guess we wrote a little early about the housebreaking thing. You see, after I wrote, mom and dad took me on a vacation to Florida to visit one of my people sisters. I slept the whole time on the plane after I took this little pill the vet said I needed. I had a wonderful time when I got there! My first day, I rolled in something stinky and needed a bath right away! Then it was on to an outdoor restaurant where everyone made a big fuss over me. Anyway, when I got to Florida, I sort of forgot that I was housebroken. Then when I came home, I still couldn't remember. It took me a whole month to remember, but now mom says I have been very good in that department.

The department where mom says I haven't been so good is mischief. Gee, I thought I was really good at mischief! Oh well. I dig up the yard a lot and need tons of baths. The digging is great but the baths aren't. But it's worth it for all the fun! I help mom by pulling out all those little pink and white things which are sprouting up overnight. So why does she yell when I do it? I am just trying to be helpful.

On Monday mom and dad took me to meet a bichon girl who lives at a place for doggies who don't have homes. At first she growled at me, then we had lots of fun. Mom and dad said this bichon girl might come home with us. I wonder if I will like that? I guess we will see.

Yippee!!!

My mommy says I am officially housebroken, she is so happy! I wonder why? I am only ten and a half months old, I am still a puppy! Oh well, she seems to think this is a big deal. When I want to go out in the yard, I ring the wind chime hung on the door knob. Then I go out to play! Sometimes I take a toy outside, and sometimes I bring one in. Sometimes I have to make, sometimes I don't. I like to ring the wind chime a lot! Mommy gives me a treat when I come back in. Even though it is very cold, today I rang the wind chime five times in a half hour, it was fun! Mommy says that's OK because I am not making in the house anymore. Mommy says I am a very good puppy, even though she says I am still mischief on wheels, whatever that means.
