She can stand on her hind legs for loooooong periods of time. Sometimes, she even dances with us!
Arrival Story:
When she was found by animal control, her muzzle had been wired shut - that's why she has a scar. When I saw her at the shelter, I knew she was going to be part of our family. She was so scared and so timid when we first brought her home, but with time and love, she's turning into the best dog I've ever had.
Bio:
Maggie is part Kishu inu, a breed that is rarely found outside of Japan. The breed is quite protective, so we're having to work hard on socialization. Luckily, Kishus are also extremely intelligent, so training is going well. She picks up on words so quickly that we have to spell things out...like T-R-E-A-T and W-A-L-K and T-O-Y. She does have her "selective hearing" moments, though. Getting her to come when called is a challenge. It's like having a 3 year-old with lots of fur running around the house!
