Birthday: March 30th 2001 Likes: Playing fetch; belly rubs; eating people food; sleeping in the people bed; going to Granddaddy and Grandmama's house; playing with the new puppy, Callie. Pet-Peeves: Blowing in her face; squirrels and birds (grrrrrr); being put outside when she wants to stay inside; getting used to the new puppy, Callie. Favorite Toy: Squeaky ice cream cone. Favorite Food: Anything you're eating, except lettuce (unless it has LOTS AND LOTS of salad dressing on it!) Favorite Walk: Anywhere! Arrival Story: We got Gretchen when she was 10 weeks old from a local breeder. The breeder had a wonderful set-up, very clean and well-kept, and beautiful, healthy dogs. Bio: Gretchen herniated a disc in September of 2003. She was paralyzed and lost bowel and bladder control. This happened at 8:30 on Thursday morning. By Friday at 1:00 p.m., she was in surgery with a dachshund specialist a 2-hour drive from our home. It was really hard leaving her on Friday, but WONDERFUL to pick her up on Monday. Within two weeks she was walking again. She had bowel and bladder control back by the time we picked her up 3 days after surgery. She's a great success story!
