Likes: being close to her family, being petted, giving kisses to people, going on walks, cleaning Sebastian and Buddy's ears and faces, catching treats, curling up with her bwankie & sleeping on the sofa or bed

Pet-Peeves: thunderstorms, fireworks, toenail trims, fast squirrels, sirens, Sebastian and Buddy pestering her to play when she isn't in the mood

Favorite Food: Never met a food she didn't like! A special treat is apple slices dipped in crunchy peanut butter.

Favorite Walk: on our street or to Lake Pine Hill Park

Best Tricks: Sit, Speak, Catch treats from 10 feet away, jumping like a maniac, singing a warbly mezzo-soprano in "The Three Howlers," stealing kisses from her people

Arrival Story: Jazz was the "featured shelter pet" on a local a.m. news show in early Dec. '97. I saw her and fell in love with her! I love all those spots and that dark patch over her left eye. :-)
We drove across the state line to Thomasville, GA, and adopted her from the city shelter. Jazz was 4 months old.

Bio: When we adopted Jazz, she seemed perfectly healthy. But within a few days, she was sneezing, her eyes were watery, she got a fever, was listless and had little appetite. She had contracted distemper. Long story short, she beat that disease! But for a couple of weeks, she was extremely sick.
Our vet told us quite honestly that he didn't know if she'd make it or not. He said that if she got "the shakes," that wasn't a good sign. Well, she did get "the shakes" a little bit, but the next day, she showed more interest in eating, she was wagging her tail and wanting to play just a little. What a huge relief! We'll never know what helped her turn the corner, but lots of prayer, heavy-duty meds, love and scrambled eggs did the trick! She went from being a very sick pup to being a wild 'n woolly, high-jumpin', tail-waggin', ear-lickin' Jazzie-Girl!! She smooches her people when they least expect it! haha And the older she gets (she's 11 on 8/11/08), the smoother and silkier her fur gets. I have noticed her slowing down just a little bit in the past couple of years, but she still has plenty of energy for a dog her age. We love our Georgia Peach, our "Senior Gal." :-)
