Am I excited or what! This motherhood thing is so cool! You should check out my pups at http://havanesewasabi.blogspot.com/

They are a growing concern but I love them anyways. They are all walking early and I am sooooo excited. one even climbed up on the rails.

Mommy has to get them all jackets so they can go out in the cold when they get bigger. Next week they come downstairs to be with the other dogs. Now that's going to be fun and I then get to hang around with my pack-mates.

It's about time, I say!

Well, mom and dad were not sure if I was pregnant but today the ultrasound saw 6 pups. Come the middle of October, I will finally have my own furry bundle of delights instead of teasing Risa's.

I am not sure what is happening to me. I am on day 30 with 33 days to go. I can't seem to eat in the morning and I have become way picky but this too will pass.

Mom and Dad...time to get everything together as it is my turn!

Wasabi - A Queen in Waiting

Wasabi first visited us and we found we couldn't live without her. She is a regal queen in waiting. I say in waiting as Risa has that spot and is in no way ready to give it over to Wasabi.

Wasabi started as a dog that hugged on her own terms - Ms. Independent to one that loves the play and cuddle with that same streak of independence but has found the snuggles can be amazing. She's amazingly agile.

She is a class act when it comes to play. She glides through the air with an ease unlike any other. She's self confident. Doesn't seem to mind finally getting a boy in the house - yep Risa's pup Katsuro and loves the puppy get togethers we have but sometimes says enough is enough with all this ruckus and goes upstairs and gets her own timeout.

Havanese at play

We had met Wasabi a few times when visiting with our friends, Rita and Willard, from Sonrisas Kennel. What impressed us the most was the way in which Wasabi would play with any of the other dogs that would play with her. The one you would be most apt to see her playing with, was Gidget, her half sister. Over time both Gidget and Wasabi came to stay with us off and on as part of their socialization. Wasabi and our Shoshi got along so well, from the outset, that Wasabi never left. Watching Wasabi and Shoshi playing together is good my my heart and sure beats watching TV. The Havanese play a game where they take turns chasing each other at full speed. For those not familiar with the breed, Havanese can stop on a dime, and take off running in an entirely different direction in a split second. Wasabi excels at it. Every part of her body is so in tune with every other part of her body that watching her run is truly like watching poetry in motion. She's beautiful standing still, but even more so when flowing over the ground with Shoshi in hot pursuit.
