My first trip with Dad!

Last week I got to go on a trip with my dad and my sister. I got put in this huge box. It was so scary! I kept on hearing Daddy and the rest of the family say "Crate". Don't ask me, Humans sometimes don't know what they are saying! Anyways, My 'Crate' was stuffed in the trunk and we were off.

I never stopped crying the whole way there, good times! What did they expect me to do? The world was moving so fast! I never was aloud to get out to smell the other dogs butts!

It was our first stop and I was aloud out of the "Crate" for the first time in 3 minutes! I was in such pain! Oh my! Well, it seemed so farmilure to me! The grass was the same. I could still smell my house! It turned out that we had only reached to neighborhood park! Wow, I had some releif there. Back on the road for a while, though!

Our second stop and I hadn't stopped crying. It had been a whole 2 hours and I was ready to go behind a bush. We stopped at some food store and my sister let me out and walked me around the grassy land around it. Dad went in and when he came out about 1o minutes later he had a bag of dog food, human food, bones, and toys. He gave me a huge bone, it was too big so I hated it, He gave me a small one, it was too small so I hated it, and He gave me a middle one, it was appariently to perfect, so I hated it! Wow at that moment I am sure they all wanted to kill me...So they just threw all the bones in my crate, along with a small chew toy (that lasted a second), and some dog food. Off we were again. Off I was crying again.

We had reached a third stop. We really didn't meen to stop but we were stuck in the road. They left me in my crate this time but at least I was in one spot. I was once again, crying, whining my head off! Daddy and my sister were clearing the road of the wobly rocks. It wasn't long before we were off again.

We were there! Cherry Creek! I was so happy that when I was let out, I never stoped crying! Yay! There was this huge lake and there we rocks to climb on, and we had our very own campsite! It was so much fun! At last, I was there, where I belonged! I was running free! We began packing up, we just had got there! I was so angry. Turns out we were just going hiking!

We were taking a hike in the woods when I knew something. I started barking. Growling. I even started crying! That's new! Out of the blue I began to run for it. Dad and my Sister we chasing me when they stopped. Ohh how happy of me they were! I was chasing some elk! The elk sure didn't seem to care, the word about me crying the whole way here must have spread, they just sat there. When I ran for them they just inched away at there own speed. Finally, I scared them off! Who knew I was that brave!

The following day I met another pup. We played with eachother and I didn't run! I sniffed it many times, It never growled at me! Another happy day in the life of Sammi.

My babyish act began to kick in when we reached a firehouse lookout! The fireman let us up but I could only make it one level up. Everybody else was on the way high up top. How embarissing! They all saw me when they looked down threw the many layers of stairs. There I was, crying on the bottom layer. And the worst part. When they got to the bottom again and started walking away, I couldn't get down. Wow, that was a red face day.

The next day, I went swimming in the lake. Daddy and my sister went hunting for small fish to catch and bring home with us. I swam, and I swam, and I swam some more! Oh boy it was fun! But to get the energy you have to build it up, so as usual I fell asleep on the shore in no time. But it sure was worth it!

I was proud again! I chased 1 white tailed dear and I got to see it hop away, I chased 1 rabbit away, and I killed 1 bird (which made my sister cry). Daddy was proud of me so I got extra bones that day!

It was time to go home and I was ready. I even crated myself, even know that wasn't one of my tricks! Daddy and Sissy were so proud of me for doing that. Hey guess what, the whole way back I never stopped crying, and threw all the stops I never stopped crying, too! Wow I am surprised I am here right now! I am home now with my family, Rosie, Mom, Dad, Sissy and everyone else. I loved my trip but I would rather be home, where I belong. It's no secret that I don't fit in as a forest dog.

My Family got back from vacation, I missed them so much, but luckily my great Aunt kathy was here to take care of me. Molly came over and we played in MY pool. I even got to spend the night over Molly's house, twice! BOW WOW! It was very fun. Needless to say, we played a lot, and i got to wiggle my way into some Frosty Paws for desert. Molly get F.P. for desert ever night, and i used to, but i am on a "diet" now, so i can't have any. Not that much to bark about, same old wag of the tail everyday, but im loving having my mommy, Sarah, here everyday now that they are on Summer Break.

Last week I went to the Dog Park! They have a lake there. It was so much fun. I went there with Molly my cousin. When we got there I went straight to the lake. Molly and I jumped in off the dock! My master throw my ball into the water, I chased it, soon it floated out to far so I didn't get it. After we went there for a while we entered the dry cage. Molly helped me up on to the big doggy stairs. When we dried off we had to a bath. We had so much fun exept for the bath part. On the way out we got to meet a baby puppy like me! We played a little. When we got into the car Molly and I went our seperate ways home. I don't know about Molly but I slept real good that night. I love the Cosmo Doggy Park!

Dog Parks

Now that Molly and her mom have settled in, we have been going to the dog parks every week. I find them a little scary with all those dogs "saying hello" all at once, but Molly loves it there.

About a week ago, we happen to be at the dog park, and I was a little afraid to leave my family's side. A new dog was coming through the gates so I turned and looked, when I looked back my family was gone, but my Great Aunt Kathy was stil next to me, so it wasn't completely horrible. I followed her around for a bit, then went to get a drink and she was gone. I was looking around left and right for them, but then I spotted Molly, so I decided it would be a good idea to stick with her. It seemed like two million dog years went by, but then I heard my name being called. I looked to the left, and see everyone sitting on top of a hill watching my every move. My legs couldn't move fast enough, I ran over to them. For a second I thought they were gone, and I was going nuts with fear, but its ok now, I am with the ones I love.

Last night we went to a really cool park where there was a lake, and I jmped right off the dock. The only reason I did that was because I thought there was a step below me. The water felt good under my belly. Molly had issues with swimming correctly, she always had her paws coming out of the water. I wil surely have to teach her how to swim the RIGHT way this summer.

Ever since Molly moved out here, we have been chasing the ball every week. Her mom says that all my running will cut down on some of this jiggly stuff, humans call "fat."
I can't keep my tail still everytime Molly comes ever. Last night, they came by for dinner and a movie out on the lawn. The movie was getting boring, and Molly started chewing on one of my toys. Of course that caught my eye, and i went dashing over to steal it. She leaped up unknowingly, and bounded right by me. The chase was on. Just for barks, Molly ran circles around everyone and caught enough speed to run through the catus garden. All that grass must have gotten to her head because it was completely black in there.
It was time for them to leave, and I was getting tired. We sniffed our goodbye's and I think I overheard them saying that we would have another movie on the lawn next weekend. Who knows what will happen then....
