Her Mummy and sister, Pammy. Treaties. Tummy rubs. Being tickled. Meeting new and old puppy friends. Leg massages. Having her cheeks rubbed. Taking off down the hallway at the speed of light and jumping on the big bed.
Pet-Peeves:
She really hates it when other female dogs try sniffing under her. She's also not too fond of excessive rough-housing from other puppies. She's scared to death of thunderstorms, fireworks and the fire alarm.
Favorite Toy:
Her Kong toy when it's filled with treaties as well as her squeaky ball toys, slippers, stuffed animals and shoes.
Favorite Food:
Human food, mostly. But she also adores Milkbone treaties, Jerky Strip bacon-flavoured treaties, Scooby Snacks and rawhide chews.
Favorite Walk:
Anywhere around in the condo community where she lives.
Best Tricks:
'Sit'. 'Stay'. 'Give-paw'. 'Jump.' 'Up.' Her humans are working on 'come'; she knows it but sometimes chooses not to listen. She also knows the word 'out' and the sound of her leash and if you say 'treatie', she comes running!
Arrival Story:
After we had to euthanise Rex, my baby and best friend of 15 years, I wasn't sure I'd ever be ready to get another dog. But my mom took the initiative and found Clara on Petfinder (Clara's Petfinder page, here.) She was just perfect. Her smiling face just put us under her spell. I'd always loved Goldens plus she had the German Shepherd face that reminded me so much of my Rex (He was a German Shepherd/Keeshond mix). It all seemed so meant, as if Rex and my maternal Grandmother had planned it all from up in Heaven.
So, we made it a day trip in December '05 and drove all the way down to Virginia to get her. The rest is history. Clara has been filling my life with her sunshine every day since.

Clara is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix, to be precise.
She's a diva.

I went to the vet this morning for my annual check-up and it turns out that I've gained weight! Last year, I was 54 lbs. Today, I weighed in at 64 lbs.! -covers eyes with her paws- I'm not fat! It's all this fur... I'm... POOFY. -grumblies- Besides, I'm so cute and adorable that my human family can't help but want to give me treaties. What's a girl to do? -laughs-
Anyways, I also needed some ear cleaning medication for my left ear because the groomer had gotten water in it which gave it a bit of an infection. I don't like it, but I know it's for my own good. So I sit there like a good girl and suffer silently while Mommy puts in the medication, swishes it about and then removes the excess. Then, when I'm done, I shake and shake my floppy ears and roll around on the carpet trying to get the stuff out. -giggle-

I have a crush on a male puppy here on Dogster, but he lives so far away, all the way in Canada... What are the chances of us sniffing each other nose-to-nose here in New Jersey? -soft whimpers- I have male puppy friends here in the condo community that like me (Dollar the white Boxer, Charlie the Cocker Spaniel and Yo-Yo the Cairn Terrier...) so why is this one unattainable pup in Canada gnawing on my mind like a rawhide? Grrr... -frustrated grumblies- I need cuddles. -runs off to find Pammy-
