Arrival Story: Mo was a gift to my daughter from her Dad. Jazz was to be hers, but he and I bonded during his illness, and he proved to be a one -person dog.
So, to make our daughter happy, her Dad decided to procure a puppy. He purchased a puppy sight-unseen from somone he worked with. He then sent a friend to pick up the pup. The friend selected our Mo. Sending a friend to choose your dog is not something I would have done, but the result was wonderful- Mo became ours.
Bio: Mo was in terrible shape when he arrived. He was sickly, skinny and flea-covered . The groomer was afraid he might not be able to tolerate the flea bath, but without it, he would have become more and more ill from anemia, etc. After many vet visits, he did get better. He was so ill during his first months with us, we had to keep him separated from Jazz. So he spent most of his time in his Girl's room. As a result, he was not socialized properly, and to this day still has a fear of men. He also suffered from separation anxiety for the first few months, and chewed up an entire bathroom. He had an emergency gastroscopy to remove staples he ate. Then he had surgery for liver shunt at the University of Tenn. After that surgery, he gained weight and his fur got fluffy. He's a funny little guy- very protective of me and my daughter. My husband has tried everything to make friends with Mo, but Mo cannot abide him, nor any other male. Mo is affectionate when it suits him, but he is not as fond of cuddling as is Jazz. He is our hairy little sweetheart, and the best watch dog around!

Saturday Grandmother came to visit. The Jazz-Mom was re-hanging curtains she had washed and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Until Grandmother said "Why isn't your dog barking?" The J-M went cold with fear-She knew that if I was around, I would be barking! She thought I might have escaped outside when My Girl left the house a while before Grandmother arrived.
The J-M wildly ran around outside, calling my name. No Me. She came back in, and ran through the house- no Me. Back out, back in, and more frantic calls. FINALLY she opened My Girl's room, and there I was. Somehow, I had gotten trapped in there when My Girl and her friends left the house.
The Jazz-Mom gave me hugs and cuddles, and soon as she put me down, I barked at Grandmother!
My Girl is taking chemistry this semester. Apparently, chemistry is a booger, because frequently several of her friends come over to study together. And they really study! Anywho, I don't mind the girls, but Jordan gets on my last nerve. He is always petting Jazz, and trying to pet me, but I won't have it.
The Jazz-Mom has to put me in her room and shut the door, or I will bark the whole time Jordan is in the house. This strikes me as a terrible miscarriage of justice. I am just doing my job, woman!
On out walk last night, I poo'd outside for the first time ever. Having been pad trained, I have never done that before. The J-M was so pleased with me.
