Arrival Story:
Scout was a stray found in New York. We showed interest in him and the volunteers were amazing. After two months we made the three hour drive down to NY and met Scout. He and Lexi were immediately friends and played non-stop the entire time we were there. He had to be neutered the following day so we went home. A few days later a volunteer met us half way with him and it's been two weeks of hard work and love!

Bio:
Matt and I wanted to let you know that we lost our boy Scout on Monday evening. Scout was rescued from a shelter in January and has been the most amazing thing to enter our lives. Many didn't get to know him because of his increasing protectiveness of us and the house. Scout had two amazing trainers that helped us through some amazingly tough times. Scouts breed, an American Bulldog (which is second cousin of a pitbull), started to come out strong and he began fighting dogs and couldn't be pulled off. After a lot of stress and all trainers could do with us, we realized he was too dangerous and a huge liability to anyone or anything that came in front of him. Through all of this Matt and I never stopped loving him and he never stopped loving us. He was the funniest, most loyal dog we've ever met. We're so grateful that we've had these 7 months with him. He helped us transform Ruff Adventures into what it has become. And he was a true Ruff Adventure for us and we miss him so much. In memory of Scout we've donated to the ASPCA to help in the fight to end animal cruelty...which is the main reason so many dogs have a life similar to Scout's story. http://www.aspca.org
