Arrival Story:
Matt's dad got him as a puppy. They kept him in a 12 x 9 kennel outside. They let him out once a day to run. Matt's parents couldn't keep him so they gave him to Matt's brother. Matt's brother could not afford him but kept him anyway. He was kept in their backyard. While he was not mistreated and always had food and water, they never played with him and didn't have money to take him to the vet. Matt's brother had to move and could not keep him. I was given the opportunity to have him and snatched it up!
I was really worried at first. This dog was 7 and had never lived inside. He had no socialization what-so-ever. We took him to the vet immediately. Heartworms, intestinal worms, enlarged prostate and need to be fixed. Whew, that was expensive! But....it worked out. He pottied in the house 3 times. He gets along great with Izzy (but not other dogs). He is Wonderful with people. I like to think that I resuced him. He would have died of heartworms had I not taken him.
He really loves being an inside dog. He will not go outside if it is raining (he went 3 days without pottying once!). He is terrified of thunderstorms. And he always has to be as close as possible!
Bio:
As best I know, he started in Spokane, MO...then to Bolivar, MO...then home with us in St. Louis.
