Badges: Quick Bio:
Likes: She liked to be with her family most of all- on vaction, on car rides, in the yard, wherever. She also liked ear rubs, playing in the snow, and as she got older, good sniffs

Pet-Peeves: She'd get annoyed if you were just sitting there when you could be cuddling her. This would be indicated by a quiet whine that would slowly get louder until you would turn and look at her, then she would paw and often flop over dramatically

Favorite Toy: She liked socks- especially taking them off of your feet for you after school (hopefully sans toes). Also removing hats and gloves (sometimes with fingers) during sledding. But we all remember the beloved squeaky football that is to this day in the sewer

Favorite Food: She wasn't picky- she loved people food including pickles, bananas, and cheese.

Favorite Walk: In the woods so we could play the screaming game. We always walked her off leash because she had no desire to be anything but 10ft in front- she'd always check to make sure we were still coming.

Best Tricks: She could paw like a pro, and did so often unsolicited

Arrival Story: When we were in 2nd grade our parents asked us if we wanted a dog (our 1st one), or if we wanted another sibling. We, of course, chose a dog. One night we were out to eat, and it was a long wait, so we went across the street to the pet store while we waited. We saw this super cute black and white fluffy puppy, so we held him - he was very playful. On the way out we saw another puppy (turned out it was his sister) in a cage with a dachsund (she was shaking her toy and beating it up). So after dinner we went back to the store and held both puppies at the same time- he was very playful and she was very sweet. But the boy was jealous and kept jumping on the girl's head. So when our parents asked us which one we wanted, we of course chose the girl. The pet store took her in the back and gave her a bath and put bows in her hair, then took a picture of us with our new puppy- our very first picture with our very first girl. We named her Winnie because it was a good English name. The next day (our brother had been at a sleepover and missed all the excitement) we put her in the laundry room closet so she could come out when he put his coat away. He came home and it was apparent that something was happening because we were sitting on the stairs with big grins on our faces and we kept encouraging him to put his coat away. When he did, Winnie came walking out and he said "who's this?" which is really cute considering he was probably 7 years old at the time. of course, the best part of the story is that about 9months later, we also got a little sisiter.

Bio: Winnie lived to the amazingly ripe old age of 16 years. In February of '06 we finally chose to put her to sleep due to age and health related issues. We miss her very much every day. She was a once in a lifetime dog.

Battle of the breeds!

For if the dog be well remembered, if sometimes she leaps through your dreams actual as in life, eyes kindling, laughing, begging, it matters not where that dog sleeps. On a hill where the wind is unrebuked and the trees are roaring, or beside a stream she knew in puppyhood, or somewhere in the flatness of a pastureland where most exhilarating cattle graze. It is one to a dog and all one to you, and nothing is gained and nothing lost - if memory lives. But there is one best place to bury a dog. If you bury her in this spot she will come to you when you call - come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death and down the well-remembered path and to your side again. And you may call a dozen living dogs to heel, they shall not growl at her nor resent her coming, for she belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by her footflall, who hear no whimper, people who have never really had a dog. Smile at them, for you shall know something that is hidden from them. The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of her master.
