A year has gone by.....

My Handsome Jake,
In a few short hours it will be a year since you left for the bridge. There is so much to say but yet nothing to say. It seems like yesterday that I held you in the back of the van on the way to our vet clinic, yet it seems like forever since I have touched your beautiful face, and kissed you. I miss you still, and I think I always will.
I remember so well when we would take our walks with Bart and you would suddenly....jump on him, wagging your tail and wanting to play. He of course was out for his walk and had no time for such foolishness. I miss those walks. Now as I walk Zeek and Bart, it brings a smile to my face when he too suddenly ....jumps on Bart wanting to play. It's almost as though you are there....putting ideas into Zeeks head.
So even now, I still wait for you to come running through the room with your ears flapping and your tail waggin....Or begging at the breakfast table for some of Aut's waffles.....givin paw for some 'cheese snakes'...playing ball in the backyard....or just running as fast as you could across the backyard.
You will be forever a part of my heart, and Iam thankful for the time we had together.

Could all of my furiends take just a moment to say a prayer or light a candle for my cousin Boomer. He was a beautiful, spirited German Shepard that just turned 13 on Nov. 18th.I welcomed him to the rainbow bridge tonight.
