Mr Spot really doesn't know he is a dog. He tries hard to talk and knows about 30 words. He will play ball for hours, long after we have tired of it and stands frozen waiting for the next throw. He tries to answer the phone whenever we leave it unattended. All our handsets have teeth marks!

My Human Buddies

Me and my mate Woody Allen are really lucky dogs. We live in an apartment, and while the other residents don't have dogs of their own, they love to socialise with us. In fact, they like to mind us when our humans go away for a few days!
We both love Jess and Michael and Krista and Shane. So we have lots of company and people to play with! They also take us for lots of walks along the beach.

Christmas Down Under

Well, Christmas 2010 marked my 10th anniversary with my family.
I had a great time with everyone except I thought they could have tossed a few more pieces of ham my way (something about the vet telling the humans ham is not good for dogs! that may be true but it sure tastes good.)
My little mate, the stray the humans adopted a couple of years back is OK now and I will let him stay. Originally called Woody Allen (he has a funny little face) he is now Mr Woody.
In Australia, Christmas is generally hot, but this year many states have had very severe floods and some animals have been lost, particularly farm animals.
Rescue boat crews were sent in to get people out of their homes and in many of the boats I noticed pets were being taken to safety too.

Hi there! If you live in New South Wales, especially near the city of Newcastle, why not come to the Doggy Day Out. It will be held in Empire Park opposite Bar Beach on Sunday, September 23rd. It's a fund-raiser for Cooks Hill Surf Life Savers and it has been generously sp0nsored by Newcastle company, DIAMOND IT.
Our volunteer life savers rescue people year round and this day is one way of showing them dogs and their owners really appreciate their efforts. They need lots of equipment so everything raised will go towards new gear.
This is the Year of the Life Saver in Australia so a good time to get our paws marching together.
Let's all woof together in the doggy parade of nations on September 23rd.
Leave me a message if you can come or download an entry form for the walk on the Cooks Hill Surf Life Saving Club website!
