Arrival Story:
I saw an article in the "Boston Globe Magazine" about animal shelters. There was a dog shown who was so homely that she was cute: her name was "Pookie." I did a search for her and ended up on http://www.petfinder.com. I didn't find "Pookie," so I searched for "English bulldog." And Matilda came up, at a shelter in Exeter, Rhode Island, only an hour from Boston. I called and said that my husband and I wanted to adopt her. Two days later, Jerry and I went to Exeter, RI, first thing on a Saturday morning and adopted Matilda. And now she's here with us!

Matilda is a purebred English bulldog, who was a breeding dog, best I know.
