Arrival Story:
After 15 wonderful years with my previous dog I thought it was time to love another dog. I looked but could not find that "special" dog for me. One day a friend told me about a family who had 4 puppies to choose from. When I arrived Toby came jumping out of the basket and plopped on my lap and never left. I guess I could say Toby picked me! He is a wonderful friend and adds lots of happiness in to my life.

Super Bowl Sunday

Woof Everyone!!!! How is it going? It is Super Bowl Sunday and my mom has left me alone in the house, so I decided to update my diary. She thinks I am sleeping, but the joke is on her. I went and buried my rawhide under her pillow, so when she gets home from work tonight she will have a surprise. I also turned on Animal Planet and am watching Puppy Bowl III and eating bacon on the couch!!!! Right now they have some cats on it...what is that all about?? It is suppose to be all about us DOGS. My mom took me to the Dog Park yesterday and I got to run and play fetch. All that running around really made me tired and all I wanted to do when I got home is take a nap. I love going to the Dog Park, but I really hate it when other dogs try to steal my tennis ball. Can’t they see I am playing fetch with my mom????
I just wanted to tell all my Pup Pals, "HI!" and I hope you are getting lots of love and treats! Take Care for now--I think those silly cats are off the TV now!!

My First Day

WOW!!!! This is my first week on Dogster and I can not believe all the fun I have had. I have 5 new friends, lots of bones, and a Rosette from another dog named Toby. All I can say is that he must be one cool dog if his name is Toby. I am so glad I showed my mom this website!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am about 10 pounds, black with white paws and chest and a white beard. My mom was going to name me Merlin because of my beard. I am glad she decided to come to her senses and name me Toby. My dad calls me Buffalo Toby.

When I first saw my mom I knew she was the one. I had 3 brothers and sisters to beat out for her affection but that was easy. My pup mates came jumping out of the basket when mom came in to check us out and acted all silly. I waited until they were done acting silly and I ran up to her and plopped in her lap and never left. I figured she would have to take me home. And besides I was the cutest one of the bunch. And lucky me I got to go home with her.

My mom is the best. She gives me all kinds of good dog food and treats...and lots of toys. There are no lack of toys in my house. And I get all kinds of love and affection from her. Lots of lap time too!!!

Now my mom is a good soul and she tried her best to raise me right. The first night I was in a crate and it was okay because I did not know any better. The next night she let me sleep on her bed and that was fantastic!!! She said, "What the heck, why do I have a dog for if we can not cuddle!" The warm blankets and the pillow--wow I was living like a KING. What I do not understand is mom has this big king sized bed and she sleeps vertical on it, I on the other hand sleep straight across it with all my paws stretched out. I mean why not...you have all this room. My mom even got me stairs to get up and down on the bed. I really do not need them but I use them to make mom feel good about getting them for me.

Another thing mom did for me--thinking it was in my best interest was take me to the dog park. Which was cool at first until all these big (and I mean big) doggies came running up to me and putting their noses in places I did not like. Gee mom I was only 4 pounds and 5 months old. After that I was so scared of doggies--all doggies. Every time I saw a doggie I thought of that dreadful day at the dog park. Poor mom she felt so bad.

But a good thing happened at the park that day. I met Matthew and Wiley. Two other big dogs that were good natured and did not sniff me!!! Wiley was like a father to me and every time a dog tried to come too close to me he would go up and scare them away. Matthew and Wiley told me about this place they go to called Waggin' Tails Doggie Day Care--and it was right by my house! So one day my mom took me over there to check it out. It was kind of scary at first but the owners were so nice and there were lots of little dogs there too. The place was big--like the park--but the dogs did not bother me. And there is even a fenced off area just for us little dogs--and NO BIG DOGS ALLOWED.

My first few weeks at Waggin' Tails were touch and go, but soon I got used to everyone and all the doggies--even those great big ones! And all the doggies became my friends and the big ones protect me! But I think what happened is I met some girl doggies like Sophie, Emmy, Sami, Rosie, and especially Agnes--I think Agnes and I are going to get married. Agnes is a white Westland Terrier that is oh so cute--woof!!!

But most of all I met my best friend Brody at daycare--he is about my size and kind of shy too but we became a pack and we have lots of fun together. We run, we bark, we chase the girls, we sleep, we bark some more and roll in the dirt together. Brody has a little sister named Izzy and she is cute too (do not tell the other girl doggies). Now I run and play with all the doggies and do not hide in the small dog area and I even hang out with the big dogs. I love my doggie daycare. Every morning I wake up mom and ask her, "Are we going to daycare today?"

I pretty much love my life and wish every dog to be as happy as I am. I look forward to meeting more doggies here and for now Woof! Woof!
