Arrival Story:
Skamber's story is common, but to me, it is a true love story. In 2000, this beautiful yellow boy wandered up to some school children at an elementary school wanting to participate in some afternoon play. As you can imagine, he was a huge hit with all of the kids. When play time was over, all the children went back inside the school to continue their day, but the yellow boy decided to hang out in front of the building and wait for them. After school, the principle asked all of the parents and students if they knew the dog and no one came forward. They called a near by vet clinic and asked if they could help. After 3 weeks and no successful outcome to ads or flyers, the Vet called me and told me about this sad pitiful dog. At the time, I wasn't in the market for a dog or the responsibilty of a dog and really had no interest. However, I was curious about him so I agreed to stop by after work. Needless to say, we locked eyes instantly and feel in love. I believe that Skamber and I recognized a soul mate in each other. The last seven years have been wild and crazy. I had no idea what I was in for when I brought him home. He does the complete opposite of what you tell him to do, then looks up at you and smiles (or laughs, I can't tell), he eats paper towels even after I offer him yummy stuff, he eats articles of clothing, wakes me up at all hours of the night barking at the leaves, and snorting through the mail slot, then running upstairs to report to me what is going on outside (leaf activity only). But with all that being said, Skamber is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. He has taught me about dogs and how wonderful they are. He tells me jokes that only he and I understand, and we love to sing to one another. Everyday is a new day with my best friend Skamber, and I will always treasure our moments together.

Whooooohoooooooo! My birthday was this weekend and I had so much fun. Mom told me it was my sisters birthday too (the cat), so that made it so much more fun. She gave me a big yummy cake and howled at me. She really doesn't know how to do it right, so I had to howl back at her to let her know hows it's really done. The cat didn't seem to be having as much fun as I was, but I don't care. I got lots of bed snuggles and mom even let me up on the big soft sofa and we watched tv together. It was GREAT!!!!!

Whoooohoooooo! It snowed today!!!! That is the first time I've seen it in a very long time. And....there was even enough to run my nose through and flip it up in the air. This always gets a laugh from my people! Now....if I could just get the kitty to play outside with me, everything would be perfect!

Mom left again this morning. So I'm off for a long afternoon nap. Went for a walkie yesterday and now I can barely walk, but I still am going to head upstairs to see if the kitty wants to cuddle. Love the kitty.....
