Arrival Story:
I was at local pound a week before I resuced her and she was supposed to be picked up by owners. My rescue group had another dog in there as well and I recieved an email about this other dog being euthanized if not resuced by that friday am. I volunteered to pick dog up and take to foster at home. When I arrived that morning, Marley and this dog were both there and I saved them both. Resuce dog went to foster person, and then got loving home. Marley got to be mine, HOORAY!!
Marley was found roaming the southside of Youngstown, and I think she was on her own for awhile becaue she likes to be nosey and inspect trash cans as well as trash on the curb. She never gets into anything in the house, she always tries to be on her best behavior.I think that her owners gave her up when realized that she would need xtra love as well as time devoted to her. Too bad for them, becasue she rocks and she is my crazy daughter
Bio:
Marley's wanted to tell our story First! : Mom and I moved to columbus in March 2007 becasue of Mom's work.Mommy works part time as a Vet Tech and I am so proud of her because she loves all her patients and all animals. Columbus is a great place because it is so dog friendly and has everything for both of us. Mom knows it well because she lived her for ten years as a Buckeye at Ohio State and now she is trying to become a vet.
Mom's turn now: Marley was really underweight when we resuced her from the dog warden.She was scruffy, dirty, and underweight. She was also losing most of her fur on her tummy and back legs. After getting her on a healthy diet, she looks as beautiful as ever, she knows it too. Marley also has come a long way in her behavior too because she was a darter and very disobdient. This may be why she found her self in the pound or her owners turned her in. We think it might be becasue she was supposed to be a bait dog for fighting and she wouldn't fight, so her owners let her go. No more fighting, no more roaming the streets, she is happy and healthy with me.
Her beard is the cutest thing in the world!!
Marley is an extremely social dog who loves everyone. She can be very stubborn as terriers are known for, but her love to everyone allows her bad behaviors to be dismissed. She mobs everyone at the door and we are working on obdience. It is a daily activity. She loves her grandma soo much as well as her Former roomate feline cousins back in Youngstown . She is also a big flirt, she will stop and lay flat down on the ground when she sees another dog approaching her, she will growl if another dog ignores her. She has lots of canine friends back home at A Place for Paws and here at Goodale park in Columbus. Her good friends are Dylan the corgi, Pinot the Black Pug and Drea is her new friend.
Marley also has a brother, Chazzy who passed away three years ago. Chazzy was an awesome dog and would be her big brother. Marley is and always will be independent and hyper, chazzy was the exact opposite of her, but they share the ability to smile when really happy.
