I lost my brother Gussie. He had lymphoma my mom called it and she was very sad when it happened. Me and Gus didn't notice much difference, he still played tag and tug with me and kept body slamming me on occasion. He had a few days when he didn't want to eat so Mom would give both of us special treats and we both liked that. Then that last morning, he threw up and didn't want any food or to play with me. He let me lick his swollen neck a little bit so I knew he wans't feeling good. Mom called Uncle Michael and he and our nephew Hawk and the girls came over. Ruthie prayed for Gus. Gus was having a hard time breathing and he let me know he was going to see our Dad but I was still sad. Uncle Michael and Mom took Gussie to see Dr. Haller and when they came back, Gussie wasn't with them and Mom told me he didn't hurt anymore and I was glad for that. She told me he was playing with Daddy right now and that we would have to wait awhile before we saw them again, and that things were going to be OK. So I sat quietly with Mom while she cried and I hope things will be better soon. I keep looking for Gus but I know he's with Daddy. And I miss him.

My brother Gus has lymphoma

My brother and best friend Gus has lymphoma, don't know what that is but Mom has been crying a lot. Gus seems to be feeling good--he keeps harassing me and we play chase and tug just like always. He seems to have a little less energy than usual but otherwise OK. He has swollen glands under his jaw and I keep licking at them for him and he likes it too--they must itch or something. Momma says that Daddy, who went to heaven 2 years ago this month, must be lonesome for Gus as they were very close. So Momma says that soon Gus will be going to see Daddy and we must be very brave to let him go.

A New Home

Hi, I'm Max and I'm a big boy now of 7 months old. When I was just a baby--14 weeks old my new mom and dad picked me up at a farm where I had been living. They said they rescued me--I'm sure glad. I was living with my furry mom and dad and 2 Australian shepherds. I wasn't getting very much food and my new mom found out they were feeding me cat food. I guess that was pretty bad. Now, I have lots to eat and some treats too--yummy! Anyway, now I have a new brother named Gus and at first I thought he hated me. He is my "older" brother as he is 4 years old. Now we are best buds, but he still likes to body slam me to the ground on occasion, but mostly we run, play tug of war and chase each other. My new mom is nice to me and I just love to cuddle and let her pamper me. Oops, gotta go, here comes Gus, time to play. Later.

Max
