Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
Likes: Attention, food, and his ladies: Shifra, Arai and Lilu

Pet-Peeves: Not being able to go with me or Judah on trips.

Favorite Toy: He loves playing tug-of-war with Judah. They could do that all day long.

Favorite Food: Raw meat, bones, and organs.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere I go.

Best Tricks: Crawling on the ground and "Suche" which is German for "search". When I say it he immediately puts his nose to the ground to find the crumbs and bits I've left for him.

Arrival Story: Israel's previous owner tried to drop him off at the shelter where I volunteer by taking photos to put on Petfinder.com. He was turned away because they have a waiting list for surrendered animals since they are a no-kill shelter. (Honestly, I don't think I could take pictures of animals that would end up being put down if no one adopted them...)
The puppy was beautiful, a gorgeous, unique color with stunning light-colored eyes. I couldn't stop staring at him. There was no reason for me to be there on that day, at that time. I should have been working and we should have gotten there ten minutes earlier, but my sister and I took a different way to get to the shelter and also stopped at a gas station. Somehow (fate!) we arrived at the exact same time as the guy did. Well, I ended up going out to the parking lot and after a few minutes of talking I knew I was going to take the puppy. I had no intention of getting another dog, certainly not before the summer. And definitely not when I was still living at home. But sometimes things do not always work out the way you imagine they would.
There was of course a lot of anger from my parents for bringing home a dog at all, let alone without telling them. But now a month later (Feb. '07) my dad (who was the loudest with his opposition) cuddles with Israel and plays with him and doesn't say a word about it. Israel fits perfectly into my life and that of my other dog Judah. Judah loves her brother and I can honestly say that she's actually become even more attached and affectionate with me since I brought him home. He's like the missing piece to my puzzle--even though I already thought it was complete!

Bio: Israel is a "pit bull" but is very shy with strangers. He is extremely loyal to me and loves sleeping by my side at night. I like to think that he wasn't mistreated before I got him since there is little to see as far as abuse, though he wasn't 100% when I got him (hair missing, healing scratches/bite marks but nothing severe). On an appropriate raw diet along with a lot of love, Israel has grown and become a wonderful companion not only to me but also to Judah.

Forums Motto: Israel - Give me meat.
