Well, hello there!

Been awhile, eh? BOL! It's been busy around here what with the two grandsons and the holidays. Not too much to report, though. I've been getting used to being an only dog now, but I do miss Chauncey. I'm gettin' up in years myself, which comes with the usual health issues. My sight isn't so good anymore and sometimes I have troubles jumping on and off stuff. Otherwise, doing pretty good! I love with Myles comes to visit cuz he feeds me. And you know me - anyone with food is my friend!

Hi-ho, Hi-ho, to Hu-sis' House I Go!

Ma and Dad were invited to hu-sis' and Ryan's house for supper tonight, and I got to go with! (We left the old lady at home so she wouldn't stress out.) They had pan-fried walleye, crinkle fries, sour lettuce, and apple pie! Deeeeelish!

I kept busy searching for kittehs, but one wouldn't come off the fridge and the other went into hiding. Hmmph. No sense of fun, those felines.

I followed Ma into Myles' room at bedtime when she was going to read him some stories. I decided I didn't like the choice of books, so I peed on the floor. Ma was not so impressed. *Shrug* All in all, it was a good night!

Wow, feeling the LOVE!

I have to say, my Dogster buds are the bestest ever! I had one heck of a 10th birthday here. I got TONS of rosies and birthday notes and pawties and FOOD! You all know me well. BOL!

I spent most of the day relaxing and watching Ma do some chores - then I took a nap cuz it made me tired. Hu-sis, Myles, and Shula came for a visit in the afternoon, which livened everything up. Ma made lasagna, and Myles shared with me, of course!

Now, I'm all caught up on thank yous and pawties, so it's off to bed! Thank you all again for being so wonderful to our whole family and sharing your friendships!

Baby Not So Bad?

Ma caught me PLAYING WITH MYLES! This is a BIG DEAL. Normally, I don't really want anything to do with him. I'll tolerate him, but most of the time if he comes by me, I just walk away. Well, Myles was visiting us on Tuesday, and he took a stuffed animal out of his diaper bag and was palying with it. (It is a Golden Lab wearing a Santa hat.) The next thing she saw was me, prancing down the hallway with the toy in my mouth! I went right up to Myles and sat by him, and kept flinging the toy at him to try to get him to play tug. Ma couldn't believe it! Myles was laughing and I was trying to PLAY! (This never happens!)

Well, Ma decided that maybe I shouldn't get his toy all slobbery, so she took the dog and gave me one of my animals. Definately not as cool, but I still kept trying to play with Myles! Then, when Ma tried to play with me, I walked away. That'll teach her to take what's in my mouth! BOL!

Hunting with Aino and Toivo....

Yes, that's what it's like when Dad and I go huntin'. We went yesterday on the road to the shack. Dad saw a partridge, so we pulled over and prepared for The Hunt.

Dad was prepared. You see, he has taken me hunting before, and as most of you know, my breed of dog is a little...shall we say, unorthodox, for hunting. So, Dad has learned the following:
1. Shut off engine. 2. Roll down windows. 3. Take keys out of the vehicle.

So he did all of the above, then tracked the bird in the woods. He was just lining up his shut when he heard some noises that sounded like a pig running through the woods. He turned around and all he saw were TWO BIG TZU EYES BUGGIN' OUT THE CAR WINDOW! I had rolled UP the window with my head in it! My paws weren't even touchin' the ground! So he ran over to get me out, but his arm wouldn't go through the window, so he had to open the door with me stuck in it. OMD!

Well, I'm just fine, but we didn't get the bird. Maybe another day!

How my afternoon went...

Yay, we're at the shack! Time to chase chippos and eat stuff!

Hey, look! Ma, hu-sis, and Myles are in the water. I better check it out. Gotta stay away from those annoying big dogs. barkbarkbarkbark at Shula and Callie. Ha, sure showed them. Whoa, I'm up to my belly! LOOKIT ME, MA!!

Ma is taking off my collar, that's weird. Where ya going with that, Ma? Oh, she's coming back now. She has something in her hand. Hmmm...oh, well, better take a drink.

*SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH*

OH MY DOG, MA!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?! I'M ALL WET!!! NO! NO! DON'T RUB THAT SMELLY STUFF ON ME! I DON'T WANT SUDS! NO! NO!

I'm free I'm free I'm free! Run away from the water!! SHAKESHAKESHAKE. How humiliating. I need to find something to roll in, ASAP....

Whoa, dudes!!!

Well, you may or may not have noticed our pack hasn't been around much the past couple of days. On Tuesday, a construction crew cut through a fiber optic cable in the area (I bet their insurance company is going to be unhappy when they get that bill!!) and we were without internet, phones, and 911 almost all day. Since then, internet has been spotty.

Today, the wireless router went out at hu-sis' work! Hopefully it will get fixed tomorrow and we can get more active again. We miss you guys, and I think hu-sis might be tweaking from Dogster-withdrawal. BOL!

We were trying to get caught up in the threads tonight, but it would appear Dogster is under siege from fleas!! OMD! I hope they are ok at HQ...maybe we better send them some spray! I'm sure we'll be up and running soon, but not sure if we will be on at all tonight.

Baby + Tail = I never took math!

Myles is visiting this evening, and he still finds me very funny! He was sitting on the couch next to me, and I had my back to him and tried to ignore him. Then Ma started playing with my tail. So Myles was laughing and laughing.

Then he tried to grab me and put me in his mouth!!! I wasn't sure what to think of that, but boy, did I give Ma a dirty look. Hu-sis is teaching him to be gentle with us animals, so he did a pretty good job.

I suppose I'll keep him around, as long as he stays outta my food dish!

Lazy Susan!

Hoo-ooo, dudes, did I find something NEAT! First of all, an update: My legs are working PRETTY good again. I can walk ok, but have a harder time with steps, and I can't jump up or down on things. It improves every day, though!

So, the Prednisone I'm on gives me the mad munchies. I am lookin' for food even more than I did before! Well, I discovered a magic place called the Lazy Susan Cupboard. There is all kindsa food in there! I've gotten bread, cornmeal, more bread, granola, and paper towels from there! And, to put a little spin on it (Get it? Spin?) I close the cupboard when I'm done. If you ever wanna throw your ma for a loop, learn how to do that! BOL!

Recovering Nicely!

Hey, dudes! I gotta say, Dogster is a place you can go to get yourself feeling a lot better when you're down and out!

I am feeling at about 90% right now - not completely well, but moving and grooving! I hafta thank all you pals again for showing so much love! I got soooo many nice pmails and gifties. You buds are the greatest!
