Food! Neighborhood watch, people, the shack

Being left alone, Shula

Favorite Toy:
The pheasant

Favorite Food:
Popcorn, ice cream, green beans

Favorite Walk:
The woods at the shack

Best Tricks:
I don't do tricks. I just look cute.

Arrival Story:
I was found wandering the alleys of Clouquet, and Friends of Animals found me. They couldn't find my owner. My Aunt Dede called my mom and dad to see if they wanted another puppy and they did!

I like to go to the shack and be with the guys. Really, I like to go anywhere with anybody - I just like to go! I don't like being left alone, and when someone leaves I jump onto the back of the couch to watch them go. I also monitor the goings-on in the world from that spot. I like to cuddle and be held. When I need a nap, I jump into my big leather chair or make a nest out of my blankies. (Sometimes that annoys my sister when she's sleeping on them!) I like to go hunting, but the gunshots scare me. Sometimes barking at big dogs get me into trouble. My favorite times are when my whole family is at home where I can keep an eye on them! Good quote from a book my hu-sister just finished reading - pups are important in this world: "For those who despair that their lives are without meaning and without purpose, for those who dwell in a loneliness so terrible that it has withered their hearts, for those who hate because they have no recognition of the destiny they share with all humanity, for those who would squander their lives in self-pity and in self-destruction because they have lost the saving wisdom with which they were born, for all these and many more, hope waits in the dreams of a dog, where the sacred nature of life may be clearly experienced without the all but blinding filter of human need, desire, greed, envy, and endless fear. And here, in dream woods and fields, along the shores of dream seas, with a profound awareness of the playful Presence abiding in all things, [there is One who has always loved you]." - Dean Koontz, One Door Away From Heaven

Well, dudes, the time has come to say good-bye. My health has been gettin' pretty bad the past few weeks: can't see, can't hear, can't smell, can't walk too well...can still eat usually. :P I've lost almost all control of my back end, so my legs aren't really going and I'm going to the bathroom everywhere and anywhere. Ma decided it was time for me to make my journey. Hu-sis and Ma are very sad right now. Hu-sis and her hubby will bring me out to the shack (my favorite place!) to be buried this afternoon next to my sisfur, Chauncey, and the other family dogs.

This Dogster place has been amazing. Hu-sis and I have made so many great furiends here that we will remember forever. As we figured, the love and support you guys have given (with Chauncey going to the Bridge and Callie, Muffin, and Lucy finding new homes) through the years has been so amazing and will always be cherished. I dunno if Ma will get another doggie yet, but if she does I'm sure hu-sis will bring him or her to Dogster land so you guys can play.

Thank you for the years of friendship, fun, and love! Googly eyes, over and out!

Puppehs...*grumble grumble*

Well, now, a couple weeks ago, my Grandma Georgine had knee surgery. While she heals, her choco lab puppy, Brandy, has been staying with us.

Puppehs. I find them annoying. I am too old for this.

She jumps. She yaps. She tries to pounce on me and get me to play. She takes the toys (nevermind that I pretty much have never played with them.) She hogs the blankets. She gets the grandsons all riled up.

Me? I just want a nap. Anyfur want a puppeh to play with? Ella? Zaidie? Hershey? El Pee? Anyfur? I'll send express mail...

Well, hello there, pals!! Haven't jotted anything down in awhile, but there hasn't been too much new, either! Mostly stayin' busy with the grandkids visiting and doing my usual couch patrol. Gettin' older these days - the hearing and back legs are startin' to go bad a little. I still enjoy my eats, though!!
