Leave a bone for Wade

Nicknames: Buddy, Wader, Wader Tater, Mommy's tater tot

Quick Bio:
| -mutt | -three legger | -pound dog | | -dog rescue |
Likes: Mom and Dad, being brushed, hugs & kisses, new people, kids, rawhides and running; chasing the cat; playing with big sister Lexie, belly rubs

Pet-Peeves: Watching his weight, Water hose, vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, thunderstorms, having to potty in the rain; his folks petting the cat

Favorite Toy: His lamb that makes a BAAA sound (mainly because Lexie is afraid of it and won't steal it) stuffed animals with squeekers are good too.

Favorite Food: Wellness can and dry; Brussel Sprounts

Favorite Walk: I'm getting older and slower so the neighborhood is as far as I go

Best Tricks: Rolling over for a belly rub..everytime you touch him, getting us to scratch his stub by doing the itch emergency, he screws his body up like he's trying to scratch with his missing leg, he does it now when he want's attention.

Arrival Story: An email was circulated in April from the Baytown Humane Society about this sad dog that was found in a garbage dumping area. He at some point had a wire wrapped around his leg and it caused his paw to rot, he also had every worm known to dogkind including heartworms and he was underweight. They needed help to pay for his medical bills. Well my husband and I sent in money and so did a lot of other wonderful people. He's been through an amputation, a neutering and had all his parasites taken care of, now he's a happy energetic sweetheart. When I saw that initial email I called my husband and told him I had to have this dog. We basically adopted him without meeting him. The meet up a little later was just a formality.

Bio: Wade has come such a long way since we got him. He's very protective of his family and his home and he's become extremely affectionate. He has this sound he makes when he wants your attention. We call it the YIP, it can mean it's raining outside and I need you to sit with me, it can mean I want to play, now. Basically anytime he wants your undivided attention.

Forums Motto: Must obey the YIP!

My mom had the audacity to bring a 6 month old puppy into the house, a Chihuahua puppy no less. How could she do this to me???? I feel betrayed and hurt :(. Mom told me it's just until Saturday, we're only keeping her until she can be taken to my Nana's house. She also has explained that this puppy was a rescue, her parents were found on the streets and her mamma was preggers when she was found so really we're doing a good thing by helping get this little thing adopted. I DON"T CARE, this little thing has dominated my mom's time and she actually growled at me and my dad yesterday (the puppy not mom), excuse me?! People she took one of my toys and was playing with it, the horror!
To top it all off, Lexie doesn't care, she's not the least bit put out by her, I was hoping for a little solidarity here but no, for the first time in her life she's not acting like a Diva.
So for the time being I'm ignoring mom, except to give her my sad, hurt, puppy dog eyes, yep Dad is my guy this week.

I was digging in the little garbage can in the front room and lo and behold I found gum, the good stuff too, Super Bubble, mom's favorite. Well I got it on my cheek and on my chest oh and let's not forget the carpet. Then I went out into the back yard and rolled in the leaves so I had reddish colored leaves stuck to my face too. Now here's when the real fun (??) started. When mom got home, she of course petted me and gave me kisses as she always does when she felt something hard on my cheek, that's when she saw the red leaves and thought it was dried blood. Well I take off to greet dad and mom is screaming at him to check my cheek, dad mistook one of my doggy beauty marks for a wound and told mom that I had a hole in my cheek. Now they're both running around like crazy because the vet closes in 15 minutes and we have to hurry. About that time the leaf fell off and when mom took a closer look she smelled the gum. About that time she found the wad in the carpet. It's amazing how fast moms can go from concerened to annoyed. She cut the gum from my chest but the stuff on my cheek will have to come off on it's own, not enough hair to cut.
Boy that was fun!

I live in the Gulf Coast of Texas so we don't usually get snow, in fact I've never seen it before. But Wednesday night it snowed, alot, dad said 3 inches worth. At first I wasn't sure I wanted anything to do with it but then I got out and started playing and it was awesome. I ran and ran and ran all over the front yard. Then came in and layed down by the fire to get warm. Mom and Dad were excited too, they kept taking pictures of it and Dad made snowballs for throwing.
Lexie wasn't interested and neither was Thomas but I had so much fun, I can't wait for it to happen again.
