Best Tricks: Rolling over for a belly rub..everytime you touch him, getting us to scratch his stub by doing the itch emergency, he screws his body up like he's trying to scratch with his missing leg, he does it now when he want's attention.
Arrival Story: An email was circulated in April from the Baytown Humane Society about this sad dog that was found in a garbage dumping area. He at some point had a wire wrapped around his leg and it caused his paw to rot, he also had every worm known to dogkind including heartworms and he was underweight. They needed help to pay for his medical bills. Well my husband and I sent in money and so did a lot of other wonderful people. He's been through an amputation, a neutering and had all his parasites taken care of, now he's a happy energetic sweetheart. When I saw that initial email I called my husband and told him I had to have this dog. We basically adopted him without meeting him. The meet up a little later was just a formality.
Bio: Wade has come such a long way since we got him. He's very protective of his family and his home and he's become extremely affectionate. He has this sound he makes when he wants your attention. We call it the YIP, it can mean it's raining outside and I need you to sit with me, it can mean I want to play, now. Basically anytime he wants your undivided attention.
Forums Motto: Must obey the YIP!

I was digging in the little garbage can in the front room and lo and behold I found gum, the good stuff too, Super Bubble, mom's favorite. Well I got it on my cheek and on my chest oh and let's not forget the carpet. Then I went out into the back yard and rolled in the leaves so I had reddish colored leaves stuck to my face too. Now here's when the real fun (??) started. When mom got home, she of course petted me and gave me kisses as she always does when she felt something hard on my cheek, that's when she saw the red leaves and thought it was dried blood. Well I take off to greet dad and mom is screaming at him to check my cheek, dad mistook one of my doggy beauty marks for a wound and told mom that I had a hole in my cheek. Now they're both running around like crazy because the vet closes in 15 minutes and we have to hurry. About that time the leaf fell off and when mom took a closer look she smelled the gum. About that time she found the wad in the carpet. It's amazing how fast moms can go from concerened to annoyed. She cut the gum from my chest but the stuff on my cheek will have to come off on it's own, not enough hair to cut.
I live in the Gulf Coast of Texas so we don't usually get snow, in fact I've never seen it before. But Wednesday night it snowed, alot, dad said 3 inches worth. At first I wasn't sure I wanted anything to do with it but then I got out and started playing and it was awesome. I ran and ran and ran all over the front yard. Then came in and layed down by the fire to get warm. Mom and Dad were excited too, they kept taking pictures of it and Dad made snowballs for throwing.
Lexie wasn't interested and neither was Thomas but I had so much fun, I can't wait for it to happen again.
As you may have seen on Lexie's diary my folks brought a new new cat home, his name is Thomas, or as mom calls him; Tommy. I got one thing to say to "Tommy", step away from the mom. Now I've been more than patient waiting on mom to give him back to where ever she got him from but I'm beginning to think he's here for good, oh the horror. At first I thought he was okay, he likes to snuggle with me and I don't mind that but he is toooooo attached to my mom, there I've said it. As I've stated on this forum before, that is my mom, I barely like sharing her with Lexie and this is just too much to bare. He likes to butt heads with her and lay near her and he play with her. He's pretty loud too especially when it's time to eat, so mom feeds him first so that we don't have to hear the drama. Did I mention he's taken over my loofah dog, and can you believe my folks encourage this behaviour by playing with him and it. He waltzed in the door, made himself at home and now he plays with my green dog. I don't like it, period.
