Tribute to a Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor...
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound...
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours...
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet again above.

Casey went to the Rainbow Bridge

Our loss is great! Casey never fully recovered from his surgery and we lost him at 9:30 p/m/ on Feb. 4, 2008. Pray for healing on our hearts. We know that Casey is in heaven with Grandma and she is watching over him. We miss him so very much.

Catching Up.

It's been too long since my mommy updated my diary. I have been trying to get used to having my grandpa live with us now. He became ill before Easter and we brought him home to live with us. I like my grandpa. My mommy took me to see the lady vet for my yearly heartworm check (Very Important Checkup Laddies & Lassies!) and get my shots. The vet said I lost three pounds since my last checkup. Yea!!!! My mommy has been worried about my weight. She switched brands of food on me (& I like it) and it must be better for me cuz I don't have to eat so much of it. Have been getting my convertible top rides from daddy now that it is nice out again. My mommy will have to post some more pix's of me enjoying myself. I love life!!!! Thanks to all who have become my pup pals and those who browse my page. I hope you enjoy it.

Well it has been almost a month since I wrote in my diary. Been busy playing in snow, surfing dogster.com for cutie pies (found a lot of them too), making friends, giving bones and gifts, just having a barking good time. I love this site for us dogs (and dog lovers). Got my new rabies vaccine (ouch) and already got my new license on my collar. My mommie is good about keeping up with my shots and licences. She doesn't want any thing to happen to me. She says that I'm the sweet pea of her life. My mommy loves me, and daddy does too. Til next time I got something to yip about, ya'll big dawgs (and little ones too) keep chomping on the bone.

Over haircut

Well, what do ya'll think? I'm okay with the new "doo" my daddy gave me. Sometimes he cuts my hair too short. I think my new scarf is cool. My mommy likes to make them for me so I have a collection of them to go with my different collars she makes me wear. Going out to play now in the snow while daddy snowblows the drive. Finally, some snow in Michigan. Til later ...

haircut day

Today I am getting a haircut and I'm not in a very good mood. Have to see how this turns out before I get happy-go-lucky again. If daddy cuts me too short, I'll hide for a few days til I feel okay about myself again. So if ya'll don't hear from me, you'll know how it went.

First day out on the www and have made new friends already. Sure am looking forward to what this trip holds for me, cuz I like to ride!
