Arrival Story:
We were looking for a min. schnauzer and found a litter from a private breeder in a city 90 miles away. He grabbed my fiance's pantleg with his teeth to play and when my fiancee picked the puppy up, he got a kiss from him. That locked in the love relationship. We took him home with us. He's been kissing us ever since.

Bio:
Casey is an oversize min. schnauzer. We saw both parents who were normal size for the breed. Casey is between the size of a Std. Schnauzer and a Min. Schnauzer. He loves treats, to be outside (as long as the sun isn't beating down on him), ride in dad's convertible, and ride in his own cart behind dad's bicycle. He is very smart and loving. He was housebroke when we adopted him at the age of 9 weeks. He makes throaty sounds when he wants something and is not being paid attention to. If still being ignored, he will lay his chin on our lap and look at us with those big beautiful eyes that we find hard to resist. Eventually, he gets what he wants (98% of the time).

Tribute to a Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor...
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound...
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours...
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet again above.

In honor of one year since you left us:

My sweetest Casey Jo,
How much I miss you, you will never know.
My heart aches every day since you had to go.
I've encased you in a box with love
to keep you safe til we meet above.
I love you, I miss you, Mommy.

Our loss is great! Casey never fully recovered from his surgery and we lost him at 9:30 p/m/ on Feb. 4, 2008. Pray for healing on our hearts. We know that Casey is in heaven with Grandma and she is watching over him. We miss him so very much.

Catching Up.

It's been too long since my mommy updated my diary. I have been trying to get used to having my grandpa live with us now. He became ill before Easter and we brought him home to live with us. I like my grandpa. My mommy took me to see the lady vet for my yearly heartworm check (Very Important Checkup Laddies & Lassies!) and get my shots. The vet said I lost three pounds since my last checkup. Yea!!!! My mommy has been worried about my weight. She switched brands of food on me (& I like it) and it must be better for me cuz I don't have to eat so much of it. Have been getting my convertible top rides from daddy now that it is nice out again. My mommy will have to post some more pix's of me enjoying myself. I love life!!!! Thanks to all who have become my pup pals and those who browse my page. I hope you enjoy it.
