To go on looong walks!

He really didn't like it when you blew on him.

Favorite Toy:
His tennis balls, zanies balls, plush mailman, and plush bone.

Favorite Food:
Shakar ate Nutro lamb and rice for big dogs, he absolutely loved knuckle bones, and his favorite treats were Pup-Peroni's.

Favorite Walk:
He loved to go hiking!

Best Tricks:
Sit, Lay Down, Stay, Leave it, Drop it, Fetch, He also gave good night kisses and went in his kennel on command

Arrival Story:
Shakar came to me through his breeder she had taken him from an abusive and neglectful owner. His previous owner kept him isolated in a small crate in the basement where he was forced to lay in his own mess and on the rare occasion he did eat ate it so fast he couldn't hold it down. He threw up everything he ate the first night I brought him home. He only weighed 43 pounds when I got him. He nearly died at the vets the next day and had to stay there all day. They took x-rays and found out that that his stomach, intestines, and colon were filled with gas. His colon was 3 times the size that it was supposed to be and they were afraid that if it wasn't treated soon he may have had bloat ( A deadly condition in GSD's). He no longer has tummy issues and gained at least 15 pounds in the first few weeks with us. He now weighs over 70 lbs. He loves to play and is a big cuddle bug.

As a 12 year old trainer I could teach Shakar his basic commands but was unable to curb his aggression towards men. He was highly aggressive towards them due to the fact that he was abused by the man who had previously owned him. Since at that age I could not handle aggression training Shakar joined the police force and they have helped him redirect his aggression into something useful. **Update** I haven't heard much about Shakar since I turned him over, but at this point he is probably retired from the force. I am sure he served his community well and he was a fantastic dog when he was mine.
