Arrival Story:
I had been looking for a Afghan for a few years...Searching the magazines and papers. I started a new job and was looking through some magazine and telling some one about how I wanted an Afghan and they said " well Bob's wife raises them" (Bob was my new boss). I talked to him latter and made arrangements to meet his wife. She latter took me to my first dog show and taught me about conformation shows. I bought Axl from her a few months latter.. He actually was an "accident" ...But one that happily changed the rest of my life for the better!

Bio:
For Axl's first Christmas I thought that I would have his picture taken to send to my friends. I made an appointment with a "national chain" store's photo department. I had to be there early on a Sunday morning before the store opened and had to go through the back of the store and up then freight elevator. Well I got up at 4:30 am to give him a bath and get my self ready before we had to be there at 9:00(washing afghans takes a lot of time). So we finaly get there( on time) and the photoghaper was late. We ended up waiting on the loading dock for about 45 minutes until she got there. We went up to the studio and did some small talk and then got started on the Photos. I had a red collar & leash on him at the time that showed up in the picture, but it didn't bother me. Besides it's a Christmas photo...Da.. holiday colors are Red and Green. Well She thought that we should take his leash off. I didn't think that was such a great idea being that he was a 5 month old puppy, But she took it off any way...and the second she did ...He was gone and out the door of the department..Needless to say we chased him all over the store ( which was supposed to be opening any minute) Under the clothing racks, behind the counters, down the isles. After about a 1/2 hour we cornered him and got him back to the studio, got the rest of the pictures taken and went home. I was supposed to Pick up the pictures on Dec 19th( just before christmas) to find out that we went through all of that for NOTHING. She was in such a Hurry SINCE SHE WAS LATE, that She forgot to put ANY FILM IN THE CAMERA! AGGGHHH and since he got loose in the store and they had to wait to open that day,( I think he may have peed on the floor too) the Store changed their Policy to NO longer taking photos of pets! I was pissed to say the least. I had no pictures to send out for Christmas! But I did have a funny story of Axl's first trip to the photographer! I always made sure that their was film in the camera after that!
