My Best in LIFE Bull Terrier is Gone
Rocky –Bulwark Minniken Trademark
Feb 3, 1996 to September 2nd, 2006
My dearly loved bully Rocky is gone, it breaks my heart to say it, but that is the way it is, there will be no more brindle butt hanging out of a garbage can, no more hucklebutts down the hall and no more shoving fights over who gets the pillow and good space on the couch.
My Rocky was a pet quality bull terrier, he was officially a miniature but he weighed 44 llbs full grown, so just like Rocky’s life HE WENT HIS OWN WAY ...he made his own standard “bully misfit category, not mini not standard size…Rocky size
Rocky did not go into the show ring and win ribbons, but he met many adults and children who after meeting this goofy friendly bully, left loving the bull terrier breed a bit more and they left knowing the breed did not deserve the misinformed labels they have been stuck with over the past few years.
Rocky also changed my life:
1) steering me into fundraising for bullies who needed financial aid to get their own loving home
2) helping me meet so many generous and loving owners of other bull terriers and making some very dear life long friends
3) I never would have had my own business, or my web site without having him in my life so you could say Rocky dragged me into the technical world of computers
Rocky has passed on to a better place, he left this world with myself and my husband Fred holding him and telling him how much we loved him.
He was born at Bulwark Kennel and he now lies at Bulwark Kennel buried up on the hill under a tree overlooking the kennel where he can hear all the bull terriers play and bark
Today, it is a beautiful sunny day and Jo has a new litter of bully pups and knowing I needed some comfort, in her own gentle way, she steered me to the pups and let me hold their soft bodies and get kissed by 4 rambuncious bullies
It shows how life comes full circle , you are born and you die, it was so nice to hold new life, after a great life had just come to an end .
Those of you who know my Rocky, plse think of something cheerful about bullies and say goodbye to him with a joke or a smile, he would like that,he would not want anyone to cry
I am so glad I have Madison, the house will not be so lonely and quiet, but she will need lots of hugs and attention as she already is looking around for Rocky
So we can comfort each other , I wil never forget him
Goodnight Rocky, you are in good company with Morris, Indy,
Remy, Ben, and so many other bullies who have passed on before you
Goodnight sweet prince
