Arrival Story:
We adopted Harley Joe from Wisconsin Doberman Rescue after we suffered the loss of one of our first boys, Scout. Our other boy, Killian, was extremely depressed at the loss of his brother and so we decided to adopt Harley. Harley kept Killian too busy to mourn the loss any longer. Harley helped patch up our broken hearts as well. (You can see a listing of available dogs through Wisconsin Doberman Rescue at petfinder.com)

Bio:
Harley Joe is a red (not brown) Doberman. He has cropped ears that cross on top of his head. He is a typical Dobe, in that he wants to be with you 24/7, hence why we call them "velcro dogs". He loves to suck on blankets, he does not chew them, he just sucks on them like a pacifier. He is training to become a therapy dog and God willing he will take his final exam sometime in late March or early April 2007. He has been a blessing to our family and we couldn't have asked for a better dog. He is the most affectionate dog I think I have ever met. He loves to give kisses and cuddle on the couch, or chair or where ever he can squeeze his butt to be close to you. He is simply the best!!

Enough already!!

Ok seriously, enough with the snow already. I can't take it any more. I can't even go to the bathroom like a normal dog any more, way too much snow. And its cold!! Who wants to stand out in snow up to their bottom and take care of business. Not exactly inviting let me tell you. I can't even remember what its like not to have snow. I mean we have had snow on the ground for three months. I need a vacation, seriously. Some place warm and green. Lots and lots of green. And now I hear we are going to have some rain, but mixed with, yep you guessed it, SNOW. Come on already!! I think that little groundhog is a big, fat liar!! Early spring my nub!! All right I will quit complaining, but sometimes a dog just has to vent, ya know.

I got my CGC!!

Hi everyone. I had to write to let you know that I earned my CGC title this weekend. My Mama can't stop telling me how very proud she is of me. She is so happy!! So next I'm on to take my TDI class and hopefully earn that title as well. Then me and Mama can go and help other people. I can't wait. We have to go celebrate some more.

Poor Dutch Part II

Well if you read Dutch's latest entry you know he ate his sutures out. I told him not to but he never listens to me. What do I know, I am just older and wiser and know that you aren't supposed to eat your sutures. Well now he is wearing this big ol' cone on his head and it just freaks me out. He tries to get both of our heads in there at the same time-no thank you!! I guess I will have to keep a closer eye on him from now on. It does kind of stink though because now mama won't let us wrestle because she is afraid we will make Dutch's sore even worse. Well hopefully the doctor will tell him next week that he is good to go and we can resume our non-stop wrestling matches. Wish us luck!!
