Quick Bio:
-purebred

Birthday:
September 21st 1997

Likes:
Eating, licking someone's hand, hanging out with family, cats, being admired for my strikingly handsome good looks, sleeping on a people bed, doing puppy angels in the snow, a little Gene Krupa.

Pet-Peeves:
An empty food bowl, tall furniture, going to the vet, wise cracks about my height, when my family feels sad, being mistaken for a girl dog.

Favorite Toy:
Squeaky Hedgehog

Favorite Food:
Kibble, cheerios, bananas, popcorn, carrots, and an occasional crayon.

Favorite Walk:
walking to baseball practice

Best Tricks:
Looking like Celine Dion. Another big talent is alerting his people when it's time to feed the dogs, though he usually begins this process a good 90 minutes before it is time to eat. He is great at comforting sad people.

Arrival Story:
As a tiny pup, Buddy was adopted from a highly-regarded breeder in Marsailles, Illinois named Hanalor Heller. A self-proclaimed "tweener" he was too big (for a mini long haired dachsund) to be a show dog but thought to be a perfect pet, and companion for a then 7 year old boy. This proved to be true! A dog from a previously divorced home, he traded in joint custody to go live with dad and his new family full time. Now he loves living with dad, new mom, two human boys and 2 other dogs. The sheltie helps Bud from having embarrassing accidents by alerting the humans when he has to go out. The corgi is normally pretty jealous and obnoxious with the sheltie but Buddy is no threat to her and they co-exist peacefully. Buddy totally loves living in a dog house.

Bio:
Buddy had this to say when interviewed...I am the ultimate in affection and comfort to those I love. I love to cuddle and will lick a hand as long as I'm allowed. I dig kids and am very gentle with them. I used to volunteer at a nursing home but my height made it difficult for people to reach me. I never miss a meal and will always be there to catch any food that a clumsy human might drop. I have a super sniffer and will not hesitate to use it to hunt down snacks by rifling through everything and anything. After nearly 18 years, Buddy died following a cardiopulmonary crisis. We know he is in Dog Heaven. We are so thankful to have had him in our lives.

Forums Motto:
Mind if I lick your hand?
